Keowee Labor Day raft up

Is there a fresh (drinkable) water spigot @ crow creek. If not I can fill my tank in the Seneca area. I will have a hose.
Jay, do you have fresh water access at you'r dock??

There is a small bath house but no running water. Locals use it mostly though it is a nice landing. Gap creek may have more emnities but it doesn't cost anything to put in at Crow. Not sure about Gap. If you go to Crow my burgandy Windstar should be in the lot. If so then go to (34degree 52'17.21" N, 82degree 53'31.17W google earth). It's the island we usually raft up on right at the end of Crow Creek before the main channel.

Okay one quick question? Who has got the UGA game covered???

Hmm...for the folks leaving from Charlotte, about what time are you leaving? I am thinking this may be something Rhinda and I can do tomorrow. It's looking like almost a 3-hour pull from Matthews (near CLT).

Maybe we will see you there, and yes I guess we would be at the end of the raft up line!

We are leaving from Indian Trail around 6ish. Between stops (wife and boys) we plan to be there a little before 10.

And you will not be at the end, my baby boat will be at the end.

Chuck, glad you are coming! Let's Ride Clyde has satelitte and a 32" TV in the cockpit. As promised, I have the bloody mary's and Lynn has cake.

Where are you putting in? See you in the am!

We should be on the lake around 10:30am. Didn't get the radio installed so we will be watching. I have posted my GPS so if someone could do a loop by our little island that woul be great. My cell number is 828-275-2300. I will leave it posted until tomorrow evening.

Hey folks sorry for the drive by this after noon. I met Jason and his family at Crowe Creek and they beached with us for a short time. We had some friends in a canbote beach with us and after giving Jason direction to the Club raft up they left to play a bit.

We were getting ready to leave when our friends mom and pop shows up in a four-binns and they decided to stay the afternoon.

So what can I do? Bring and canbote and four-binn with me to the raft up? I put my disappointment aside and retained my friends and my admiral’s appreciation.

It was a perfect day though and I’m glad Chuck came by to look at Old Skool.

Looks like everyone had a great time...logged in just to see the pictures from today!!!

Here's a couple pictures of the raft up. Jason and his family at island 17C with us and the big boys toys all lashed together at the raft up. The raft up looks small but boats were moving in and out all day. I didn't get a chance to raft up but crusing around I could see all were having a great time. Next year I'll shed the canbote and four binns.

What an AWESOME day! I know we were late to the party but I do believe we got enough fun in during the short time we got to see you guys!

Chuck, I'll send you the recipe for the Almond Joy Cake....it must have been a hit because most of it is gone!

Thanks SO MUCH to everyone who came, stayed, drove by! Gary and I look forward to doing this again next year.

Admiral Lynn ;)

Maybe next year we can stay longer. Again we had a great time. Next year we are going to have to send somebody early to hold the beach for us. (Grin)

Bill, you would have been welcomed in and assisted with tying up! Hate we missed you . Wanted to see the boat as well. We hope to see you on the lake another time.

We had a great time this weekend. Big thanks to Kes first for talking us into it via email and then for showing us around Jocassee today. The boys had a blast at the waterfall.

Bill, thanks for finding us on Saturday and taking us along to your little island. That was our first experience beaching the boat.

We made it back to Charlotte no worse for wear. Lots of firsts for us on the boat this weekend. So our first month of boating was a success.

Great meeting everyone, and hope to do it again next year. Love the pictures!

We too were late and hope to make it much earlier for next year. I am thinking maybe an overnight at the beach Fri would definately secure it for us! Whatever it takes, I am thrilled to see the chatter about a trip a whole year in advance and hope we can continue to make it bigger and better each year. It was a great time for sure. Thanks to all that showed up and it was great seeing ppl from before and meeting newcomers! Jason and family deserve a big hand of applause. Did not realize they had only 4 weeks of practice at EVER boating and came to the raftup! Good job! Had a great time on Jocassee today as well with a small group.

Hopefully we'll have an improved Old Skool next year. Lots to do this winter. I did get a chance to meet a few folks which makes me feel bad about not rafting up.

Next year I'll run point and get the island before hand. Need to check out island 17C. It's perfect most of the way around the island. Side side of the island faces the camp grounds.

Chuck, thanks for posting the pics. the one of Reed on the log is just prescious! Hope yall can make it next yr and longer as well. Janet took some pics and will post too I'm sure. They are overnighting on Jocassee tonight! Jealous!

I know you were a little concerned about beaching the boat so I wanted to get you in a nice soft sandy spot for your first time.
You handled the boat like a pro. You have a beautiful family and the memories you make with the SR will last a life time. Hope to see you again next year.

Tell your wife that Judy said Hi. She realy enjoyed talking with her.

Thanks Bill, it was great meeting you and your family. Pro may be pushing it, lets say we moved up from pee wee to JV. The people waiting for me to trailer the boat this afternoon probably do not want to see us around there anytime soon.
