:smt038:smt038:smt038:smt038:smt038:smt038:smt038 Bout time! OMG! Yay, Nicky and Janet!!! I'm so excited. Can I order some chicken salad? Will trade for ET.

Kess and All,

We will plan on leaving Keowee Marina at 11:00 on Saturday. I will pull out and be in the area in front of the GAS DOCK and RAMP. If you are talking about the big concrete thing near the falls, I think that is the Greenville Water intake. We should arrive that area right around noon (at a slow cruise).

Lynn and I are planning to be at the Marina Friday around noon , maybe a little after, so anyone who is in the area stop by Dock D Slip 10.

Do we know who will be leaving from the marina Saturday, we do not want to leave anyone behind.

Also I will be monitoring Channel 16 on the VHF,

I will be at the last island on Crowe Creek before the main channel (34degree 52'17.21" N, 82degree 53'31.17W google earth) around noon on Saturday. I have been to the raft up site many times. There is no problem launching boats from any of the landing that I'm aware of. Went last Monday and had plenty of ramp still in the water. If you leave the Marina at 12:00 I should be able to pick up the caravan in the main channel around 12:30 I would think.

If the water is too cold to swim then we can move south to the island we normally raft up on.

There will be chicken salad. Can't wait to meet the Keowee crowd.

Jason, Jessi and our two boys (Jackson and Joshua) will be joining the group as well. We are newbies to everything (boating, Sea Ray and Keowee) and looking forward to meeting everyone. We are putting in around 10am at Gap Hill Landing. We will plan to be at the GPS coordinates after 12.

We are planning to travel up to Jocassey on Sunday. Thinking it would be a shorter tow if I put in Keowee at Mile creek landing, rather than Keowee marina.
If anyone knows of a reason I should not use Mile creek landing, Please let me know. This would reduce the time of travel on Sunday a great deal.
If anyone else would like to join in on the Jocassey adventure, we'd love the company.
OK CHUCK, If I can "COWBOY UP" and make the 200 plus mile haul from the LOW COUNTRY, I know you can make it down from the Ga. hills.

We are driving over from Charlotte. We are putting in north of the marina as well on Saturday. Also planning to go to Jocassee on Sunday for a few hours. First time at both lakes for us.

Check out the landing at Crow Creek. Usually locals as the landing is only marked by the Duke power landing sign. Google it. From there it is a short drive north on 133 to Highway 11. There are 2 ramps with a floating aluminum dock. You can get 2 boats on each side of the dock to launch or recover.

Its looking good. Glad everyone has decided to make it! Its going to be a great time. We will join up with the caravan at the water intake area. Gary, if you let me know what time everyone leaves the marina, I have the phone numbers of everyone else that will be north. Do you want to set a channel on vhf? 68?

Just take your time and work your a docking an launching check list. It will become second nature. Hey I fell on the dock last week and ripped both knee caps, then forgot to raise the outdrive leaving an aluminum trail up the ramp. It happens so don't get frustrated.

You can ask us anything and we will try to help out. See you in Saturday.

BTW don't forget the plug.:lol:

Kes,

Channel 68 it is, I will call your cell phone as we are leaving the Marina, we are shooting for 11:00.

Thanks. I looked at Crow creek on the map. Wasn't sure how much water was up there. But Crow creek it is will look for the DUKE POWER SIGN I will try to find an address to put in the GPS. If you know it let me know. Nicky

Is there a fresh (drinkable) water spigot @ crow creek. If not I can fill my tank in the Seneca area. I will have a hose.
Jay, do you have fresh water access at you'r dock??

Take a look at Gap Hill Landing. 864-868-2823. They are located at 900 Gap Hill Road, Six Mile, SC. That was a place i was told to look at.

Looks like you are going to have a GREAT weekend! I wish I could be there but as my wife pointed out after my complaining about going to Vermont, your boat is broken anyways.
