How many days before your boating seasons

For those of you (like me) who can't do boating all year, how many days before your boating season ?

This is the front of my home as of yesterday. It looks like I still have a long way to go before boating, probably 50-55 days, but once I start I will enjoy every day of it.

I didn't miss the statement... It's boating season all year long here in Clearwater...:smt043

Hey, good for you.

Not my case but 50 days to wait is nothing when I know that my summer is gonna look like this, all the time:

The pic is blank :wow: I was all excited...

I'll pick up a new battery this week and try to start her up on Saturday using muffs in the back yard. I'd like to put her in the slip too but we'll see how it goes. Spring is late this year, daffodills are just now popping up. The lake is full pool though!

BigAl....I love the snow, so that looks beautiful to me!!

It's the in between times like we are going though now in CT that kinda blow. Not cold enough to snow, not warm enough to take the boat out as overnight temps are in the mid 20's...Im too afraid of a cracked something from ice to take the boat out.

At least I am getting all of my outdoor chores done now...almost done with spring leaf cleanup, I put the kids trampoline together this weekend, get some of the outdoor furniture out, put the tennis court net up (gonna play tonight for the first time this year finally) and other fun stuff.

To answer the thread, I believe I am taking the boat out of the garage this Saturday and doing a wash and wax, and should be dropping in the water the following Saturday for her first run. Hopefully?

Launching the boat on the 30th of April. River is still up and will be that way for several weeks based on the snow pack that I saw last week up in NH near the Canadian border. I am jealous of you all that are already in the water.

I'm thinking maybe in 42-49 days or so.

I stopped by the town ramp yesterday. The gates are open, but the water level is so frikkin low. They opened up the dam down river in anticipation of a lot of snowpack melt :smt021

I dont think I can even launch the boat if I wanted to right now. Im hoping it will be ready in 10 days:smt100

Our boatel opens April 1st, but allot of customers have already de-winterized their boats for use. Plus we have allot of new deliveries going out. So I'd say, the season has started, but April is when it really takes off here.

What river are you on? The CT is up considerably, however, my kid rows crew for Glastonbury and they have been on the river all week.

It is lake zoar. They open up the stevenson dam in the spring sometimes if they expect the snowmelt is going to give rise to the lake and overwhelm the housatonic river, so I am told.

Only 7 days to launch! The weather here today got up to 70 degrees, so my boss gave me the day off to wax the hull below the rub rail while still on blocks. The porter cable and I got quite the work out, but we managed to get two coats of Meguiars Flagship on and looks great.

I am hoping to be in by mid May , we still have some snow on the ground and long range forecast isnt to impresive. They dont start getting boats out of the dealers inside storage until April 15 anyway. I am looking at like 45 days :(

If all goes well, Saturday will be the day. Stopped by the marina today and a couple of boats were heading out. Water temp is mid 40's at Middle River.

50 hours 5 minutes and I'm IN!

boats are launching like crazy. I'm still not ready yet, I've got a couple more weekends of work to do. Looks like the temps are rounding the corner next week. Here comes spring!!!

was supposed to have the new boat delivered next week, but that's a no go because the lake is up waaay too much. They can't get to the ramp to launch, because they can't find the ramp. Bummer, bummer, bummer.......

Maybe in a couple of weeks, we are hoping the lake goes down enough by then and some of the debris is cleared, or sinks or whatever.

If we could just siphon some of this water to the southeast all would be great. Does anyone have a really long water hose?

Was going to pull her out tomorrow (sat), and wash and wax...overnight temps next couple of days: in the teens.

I'm afraid of getting water somewhere and it freezing. My luck would create a crack somewhere:smt001
