For those of you (like me) who can't do boating all year, how many days before your boating season ?

This is the front of my home as of yesterday. It looks like I still have a long way to go before boating, probably 50-55 days, but once I start I will enjoy every day of it.

Brrrr, sorry to hear/see that! Our boating season started two weeks ago. Suppose to be in the 70's again this weekend (don't mean to rub it in)

4 days till re-commisioning then getting some service work done. As soon as thats done, we're on the water!!!

Took her out yesterday for the first time this season. 60 degrees and sunny till dusk, and it dropped out to about 45 and it was cold on the ride home. Slept at the dock with a space heater.
Most important was the boat ran great!

Other than this last weekend we were out overnight the previous two weekends.
The new heater is great while underway and a couple electric space heaters at night. The hydronic one we'll still need it for another couple months, as we are still in the 40's/50's during the day. We may get out this weekend, but we'll see.

About three weeks for us. Hope that big pile of Canadian snow will find its way into the Great Lakes.

Early-mid May I'm guessing... but I do water sports; I'm sure the large lakes will be suitable for cruising in 2-3 weeks tops.

man I miss those northen Montana Rocky Mountain winters!!!

not even a even a lil bit.... :)

we'll be out this weekend... should've been last weekend but still cleaning up ice storm damage.

We can boat year round but we can't get in the water until May. That's when our season really starts. Our little ones (including me) get cabin fever real quick on the boat if we can't jump in and swim. So about 5 or 6 week to swimming weather.

If I had to put up with northern winters I wouldn't own a boat. As a matter of fact when I lived in the Northeastern Ohio snow belt I didn't own a boat. Between 100+ inches of white stuff in the winter and the unpredicability of Lake Erie in the summer, owning a boat could be enough to cause you to tear your hair out.

Maybe you missed this part of the original question.."For those of you (like me) who can't do boating all year, how many days before your boating season ? For me it's 2 weeks from this Saturday.

Low lake levels would cause me to do the same.

Now there is no need to get testy. But not being able to boat all year would make me go crazy. We are lucky enough in the Sacramento area to be able to boat all year....if you have heat in the cabin. May 1st is officially Opening Day but we have been boating for about a month. Actually went on a club cruise St. Paddy's Day weekend. We had 22 boats and 70 degrees. I'm not trying to rub it in. I truly commiserate with you.

Been boating for a few weeks here. Like said before, the water isn't ready to go swimming or tubing just yet. Should be a few more weeks for that. Enjoy the summer!

I did not boat this December... was not home... Just had a great weekend this past weekend however... photo of our boat one of the evenings (friday)... got ice on her by morning...
