How Accurate is the Information You Receive Here?

Why is it viewed by some, that each time there are disagreements the board is deteriorating? Anytime there is discussion conflicting opinions are bound to occur. Nothing unhealthy about that, and if it's kept civil, as it is here, nothing to pity either.

I Will pity what ever I feel like pitying.........disagreeing has nothing to do with it. Comments by pin heads that think they know everything (although they really do not) does! It is not this specific thread but the general direction CSR has been taking for a while that elicited my comment. If you do not agree...thats fine.

this one is right up there with the big boat - little boat thread!

CSR is begining to take on water!

What did I miss? CSR has been around for almost 4 years and is stronger than ever. If some poop needs to be scooped up let me know.

I'm just impressed with the everyone's progress on the board with respect to the English language. Just a few months ago, we were discussing the proper form of the "a" word that is acceptable on this board (i.e. to use it as an adjective like "a**-clown" or as a noun like "dumb-a**") and now we are into "anecdotes" and "ad homonyms." Heck... in my part of the country, a "dangling participle" usually means you need a little extra toilet paper.... Isn't an "ad homonym" a bad kernal of corn?

Off to get ready for the Urbanna Oyster Festival and oyster snorting contest.

I guess this is off topic. Sorry. I'll start a seperate thread on it.

Gary, when is the one legged ass kicking competition down your way?

Without some 'discussion', which some might interpret as a disagreement, this would get very boring and inaccurate in a hurry. Worthless drivel. There is a lot of very useful information on this site for all levels of boaters. It's useful in a direct sense as a matter of application and it's also useful as a source of entertainment among people with a common interest in boating. Downhill? The sky is falling?? The ship is going down.....???? We're just talking.

man... besides the service manual..now I have to get a dictionary.. I love this board!

and here's to you Gary.. hoping you can add 'champion oyster snorter' to your sig line :)

Wesley,

If I wanted to search for information on this topic would I search for "Oyster Snorting", "Information Accuracy" or "Internet Moral High Ground"?

Wait, I think I'd find it quicker by searching for "babel".

Just stick a fork in it, I think its done.

Here is my take, not that anyone cares.

I've had my boat for less than a year. I went from Crock to Rock during that time and this board is the main reason. There are a handful that "guide" me in the right direction when I have an issue. In my opinion, boats are pretty simple things. They follow all the same laws as cars, houses, bicycles. Where things get hairy is... not taking the time to open up the manual, or trying to take the less expensive route or cutting corners. In the later, I say let the dingle berries fly. But everyone should know that when the dingle berries fly, someone might put their eye out. Now no one wants to see that and I feel that if you see someone in danger, let it be known.
