Had your Magma Newport for a while? What do you think about it now?

I can't cook with that much heat. I need some error room when I cook. Turn your head for a second and my steaks would be charcoal.

If your idea of "good cookin'" involves a can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup (or Lipton soup packet), a crock pot, and a rabbit... buy a Magma.

I've watched this for 102 posts and now your getting personal :smt089 Lipton's does give it a touch of class.

Wasn't there someone on here that talked about "boiled lunch meat" or something like that? That's the guy we need "grill advice" from.... Nothing better than boiled roast beef with ketchup... serve it with some boiled cabbage and peppers.

Does that include dirty water hotdogs with sauerkraut?

See my issue is i don't want to limit my self with buying this Solaire Grill. Dont get me wrong, it seems like it will cook really good gourmet food, but how many of us really going out boating with the kids, friends with kids, or relative and/or their kids really cook high end food. Its usually hot dogs and hamburgers, and its the cheap burgers. A lot of people dont like pink or red. Also i dont mind cooking longer, more time on the water and boat kicking back...

Me on the other hand love rare food, I love the art of cooking, and you are making me damn hungry looking at your food . So thats why this grill really has my attention. So i called the manufacture and they said that the portable grill is slightly limited. The only stuff you really cant cook on this grill, is stuff like baked potatoes, corn, chicken on the bone, anything that basically needs time to grill, but honestly i aint cooking that stuff out on the water anyway. He also said that i could cook frozen burgers on the grill too. So i think i am going to order up the Solaire....

anyone find a better deal on the 304 $340 Shipped to your door?
Four winns did you get the 316 or 304?

I do not respond to anyone calling me "Four Winns"...

There is only one person on this board I know with a Four Winns and he can respond.

Ha ha ha ha

He's in charge of grill selection.
Wait, you're putting Doug with the Larson in charge of SeaRay's grill selection?

Gary I think he's talking to you.
BTW, I like the steak medium rare and my Newport does that just fine. Yes I would like the Solaire, but I didn't know about it before I bought this one, so that's what I have.

oh the manufacture also said that on the low setting you get around 400 to 500 degress. Not sure about the magmas, but on the anywhere you get a hour of straight cooking on high with a 1lb bottle of propane.

I've got two magma's. One for each rod holder.
