I was working at a Shell gas station at that time. Always had gas, filled up after closing time. Too bad I ain’t working at a gas dock these days.

When we moved from the 350 to the 496 I was really concerned about fuel burn going way up. The 496 actually does better than the 350 did for normal cruising and tow sports because of the better torque. But, once you get above 3,200 RPMs the 496 is a hog. At WOT the 496 burn is about 31 gallons/hour. The 350 was more in the 23 GPH range, IIRC.There was a time I wished I had the larger engine instead of the 5.0 MPI.
No more.
I do have non-boating friends offer to pay for fuel, but you can tell they are thinking it's like offering gas money for a car ride. I usually let their faces get ash white as the watch the gallons click over 80 and the price tag. Then I hand the guy at the fuel dock my credit card. The relief is palpable. I would be using the boat of they were there or not, so I prefer to pay. I don't refuse a free lunch or dinner though. My friends suck….. not one has ever offered to pay for fuel.
But I have to tell you a couple friends never let me pay for lunch or dinner… I am good with that
Are the Gyros any good?
Chiraq. That's pretty good.

Big balls. Not sure...I wasn't stopping! Cutting through the hood, going from the Skyway to Lake Shore Drive...
I've called it that for years...deadlier there than in Iraq for many!
I always told this the guy was from Iraq.Chiraq. That's pretty good.
Hope your meeting went well.I am literally sitting here considering throwing one of my biggest customers out…. Mostly for being jerks and pushing back on price increases…. Face to face meeting at 4:30 today…. I am trying to stay business like but emotionally I am really pissed off…. Then I try to feel like a prostitute and say I will do it for the money….. I hate these situations
I am officially a prostitute.Hope your meeting went well.

I’m sorry, but your burning a lot more then 21gph on that 496 at wot!!When we moved from the 350 to the 496 I was really concerned about fuel burn going way up. Are you a young prostitute or an old prostitute?I am officially a prostitute.

Yeah. This is an aside, but a story about stupid people at customers. I had a sales rep working for me who got his start selling metal tube. He's a young lad, just out of school and he gets an order from a customer who wants delivery of like 12 foot long tubes in a box car. He explains that the load needs to go on a flat bed, but the customer was having none if it, insisting that it had to go in a box car. So he asks his supervisor what to do. Supervisor takes him out to the yard and asks the guys to find the ugliest box car they can and a torch. They cut the end off the box car, load the tube, weld the end back on, and paint the box car. They send the load off for delivery. About a month later he gets a call from the customer -- "How the hell did you get the tube in the box car?"Here is a customer exchange this morning after our meeting last night….. I have been asking for dunnage since January….. we completely ran out of lids 3 weeks ago. Mike works for me…..As you can see with my response…. I suck at being a prostitute
