Expected splash dates...

splashed this past Friday...making my daily cleaning visits lol....which is in ni way to be mis-construed as anything but long awaited fun....

April 18 weather permitting. Just in time for Grand Haven Chilly Blues "start of summer" festivities. With any luck there will be no more bubblers at the municipal marina so we can stay there.

Well, after doing a bunch of work on the boat, my splash wasn't as fantastic as I hoped. While the boat ran great and we had a good time it leaked oil. At first I thought it was from the filter as I had just changed the oil Pryor to going out. But today I traced the leak down with a flashlight and found that it was leaking from the oil sensor. It seems the guy who owned it before me used a steal spacer instead of brass and it rusted and cracked. Now I have to spend some time to easy out the broken piece off the back of the block. Also i got the usual alternator belt chirping from my V Belt. I ordered a 2 grove pulley from summit Racing and I'm going to run 2 belts to the alternator instead of 1.

Guess it could have been worse.

It's a boat thang!?...

Sassafras was pulled from heated storage today, although, we only hit a high of 37*. They are splashing her tomorrow to test a stalling issue, then pulling back out to allow me to do a paint job on my outdrives. The horrible excuse of mechanics that did a complete refinish on them last year didn't do it properly, and they are almost down to the primer again.... Should be floating for good by end of next week!!!

I took my boat out of indoor storage on Bodkin Creek and splashed on 4/2... After some spring clean up, we moved to the summer slip at Great Oak Landing this past Monday. It was a perfect day for a boat ride across the Bay!

Headed to the boat in a few minutes, Can't wait to tear off the shrink wrap and get busy making Aftica shine... Hope to really make the Monday splash deadline!

Happy boating to everyone else!

38 degrees and cloudy with WSW winds at 22 mph this afternoon. 35 tonight and warming (?) to 56 tomorrow. Have fun!!!

Went in yesterday...now if we could get the snow to stop falling!

Us too - winter just won't let go.
Our splash mat get pushed back, it's been snowing for 2 days now and still coming down.
She's buried in a deep drift but at least I can still get the interior and engine work done.

I tried all week to clean and wax the hull. I managed to get the shrink off and vinyl cleaned in the cockpit. The canvas is all up but that's it. While it wasn't overly cold, it couldn't make up its mind if it would rain or not.

Solution? Hired someone to do the cut polish and wax for me. Work and business plans beckon!
