Expected splash dates...

Maybe May 5th if it warms up here. Taking the shrink wrap off this Sunday to start getting her ready.

Going in tomorrow! I put on a new swim ladder and touched up bottom paint today.

The swim ladder is top quality and had a label on it that said "Sea Ray".......so I am getting closer fellas.

Splashed the boat last Friday. Showed up and they had my cockpit cover on.

It was a real treat getting the canvas up with 35mph wind and 35 degrees out.

Woke up Saturday morning to this...

It cleared up a little Saturday Afternoon. The wind never died but was nice enough to go get some shots at a different angle. I'm amazed how big she actually is. That's a 38 dancer next to her.

Sunday turned out descent enough for me to organized the dock a little and actually get all of the snaps on the canvas buttoned.

Terrible weather weekend but spending that first night on the boat made up for it. Came across a few minor issues but those are all being taken care of by the dealer. Batteries, a/c pump leaking, and some random leaks at the water manifold.

Cant wait to actually take her out. Sadly that is not until May 18th. Birthdays, Greek Easter, and my little bro's College Graduation in the way. After that consider me checked out for the summer...

Alex,

Was at MDI on Tuesday afternoon and walked down the dock to take a look at her - that is one good looking boat. Best of luck and hope to see you on the water this summer!

Thanks for the compliments Casey!

What brought you to MDI? Boat shopping???

Mom lives in Marblehead/Lakeside and we are up there quite often. When in the area, we always have our eyes open for the next one!

Very nice. What a great area to live in.

Anytime you are up feel free to swing by. There will be a cold one waiting for you.

Just scheduled my first ever splash date for May 5th in my new to me 2000 240 Sundancer

Finally wet on Friday. Nice run from Grand Haven to Muskegon except for the occasional debris to dodge from all the flooding. Went out to 110' to find clean water to try to avoid the worst of the debris. All systems go. 2670 WOT and 33.5 MPH.
But you do need to remember to open the fuel valve on the genny after one changes Racors...they only run five minutes or so on the fuel in the lines... :smt021

Thanks! At that point in time the water was about 26" deep. It was probably the boats in the marina stirring up the muck...

You must have been sitting on the bottom, the 34 dancers got a 32" draft with I/Os and the 38 about the same 3'1"! Hope no one started their engines and sucked in a buncha mud.

my 470 ran great Saturday - our first real ride since splashing 2 1/2 weeks ago. Tanks full (340 gallons diesel) and about 75 gallons of fresh water and we ran 38.9 mph with 12 on board. I'm thinking 41 is possible if I get rid of 3/4th's of the fuel and most of the people lol....ran downtown Cincinnati and back - felt great to be on the water that's for sure.....df

I put in Friday, we were goint to put in Saturday but high winds were in the forecast. I didn't even take her for a spin, went right from the ramp to the slip.:smt021
I had too much to do at home.

I was for sure in the muck. Luckily we are a soft bottom with about a foot layer of fluffy muck before a mud bottom. Absolutely the lowest I've ever seen it. Had to walk backwards and hang on to the rail on the ramp down to the floating docks... It was back to normal by Sunday though. It's amazing what a Strong west wind/gale will do to the Western Basin

Boat 043013.jpg

Swept Away is in her slip as of April 30, 2012; that's the good news. Bad news is that we have plans to visit daughters this weekend so we won't visit the boat until May 10, 2013. It's probably OK, Racine WI is supposed to be cold and wet this weekend.

I'm scheduled for May 9th, if I can get everything done.....

Dale

Scheduled for May 11th. I hope I can get my TO DO list done before then!
