Current "list" as of 6-1-2008:

Orange denotes a reservation that I have not yet confirmed with the Marina. It doesn't mean you don't have a reservation, just that I haven't confirmed it yet.

-----------------------------------------------------------
HOW TO RESERVE:

Everyone who is coming should send a $30 check ($15/night) to Inner Harbor East marina. Please be sure to include your boat name, LOA and beam. Let them know that you are with the Club Sea Ray group that is coming on June 21st and 22nd, 2008.

Send the check to:

Inner Harbor East Marina
801 Lancaster Street
Baltimore, MD 21202

Yes I know, sending a check is so primitive, but it won't kill you.

Dom (osd9) suggested that we start thinking about another rendition of the Baltimore Inner Harbor (BIH) rendezvous, which was held at the Inner Harbor Marina last summer. I would like to suggest that the venue be moved to the Inner Harbor East marina which offers several advantages:

1) it is closer to better restaurants (too many to name, all within walking distance)
2) it is closer to attractions like the Aquarium and the ESPN complex.
3) it is walking distance to Little Italy and Fels point
4) it is very close to hotels in case Gary wants to come by minivan
5) they have just added a high-end theatre in the neighborhood(that has a bar in it!)
6) The marina has a large deck area in the middle of the main dock with picnic tables and a party tent that can be reserved for large groups.

See the map below for the relative locations:

I would suggest any month from June to September, I have a preference for June or September... it is often brutally hot in Baltimore in July and August. That said, I will go anytime (with enough notice). Also, a weekend would be preferred, but not necessary. If we want to reserve the party deck, we probably need to get cracking (I will do the leg work with the marina). Any comments, suggestions, complaints?

I may go by minivan but AT LEAST I SHOWED UP!

Not sure where Four Suns will be next summer. Either New England or the Bahamas in July... 3rd week of June is probably better for us as that's when the kids are out of school.

The nice thing about the Inner Harbor Marinia is the view at night... it's awesome. It's also close to the boardwalk/shopping. I don't really care though as we can use the dinghy to get around the harbor.

Your wife letting you come this year? ;-)

Good point on the "at least I showed up" comment. I have no response. My wife will let me make the trip as long as I ask long enough in advance:smt021.

The view from "East" is basically the same as "Inner Harbor" I know because we kept the boat there for two months this past spring and plan to do it again in '08.

Minivan jokes aside, would you be willing to haul Four Suns (and your four sons) all the way up to Baltimore in the 3rd week of June?

Of course, if you go to New England you could go by way of Rock Small and Smalltimore on the Chesapeake River...

Yes... that would be perfect for us. June 21st weekend....

We will, however, have to come to Rocksmall for a night and dock to get some of those rum runners, crab cakes, and scratch your boat up.

I think we can do the 3d week of June as well. We enjoyed Inner Harbor Marina--close to the stuff my little ones are interested in-MD Science Center and Port Discovery. And the dock side pump outs are first rate...it was there that I watched a true master of his trade pump out a 480DB holding tank like nobody's business.

The view from the Marina is really something.

Did I mention they give out free marine tolilet paper as well? If you leave your deck chairs out the helpful staff will leave the toilet paper on the chairs. How cool is that?

We are flexible. We do plan to stay longer this time--it is about a 170 mile run for us, so we will stop over at Solomons Island going and coming, and plan on four or so days in BiH.

regards

Skip-
I forgot to mention Port Discovery on the list of things that were closer to Inner Harbor East. I didn't think anyone other than me would know or care what that was! It is true that the Science Center is closer to Inner Harbor Marina. Trust me on the view guys, it is the same, just from a slightly different angle.

Here is the daytime view... (yes that is ice on the dock):

And once you haul your butt all the way up this far, you might as well come over to "The Rock" for some rum runners and crab cakes. And what the hell, you can even scratch my boat too.

Are we going to have any activities this year?... like a goat milking contest or something?

I've got to agree with Tim on just about all his points.

The view is just as nice, just a slightly different angle. From the East side of the harbor, you're a short walk from everything. We've got a bunch of restaurants, kids activities, shops, movie theater, and the aquarium within 3 blocks of the marina. There's a large deck area that will be great for sitting around and calling each other "bastards." I'm sold on this place. June works for me, too.

Any consideration to Baltimore Marine Center? I know of 2 other CSR folks on my dock, but I would certainly be willing to move down a block if that is where everyone wants to go. We love Canton, lots to do and BMC is a good facility...great pool!

"Make Wesley Cry" should be a major activity !!! We should also teleconference Frank W. in.

That time frame works and location work for us. I will scotch guard the carpet in the cockpit in preparation for a visit from Gary and his errant beers!

Wesley, we have an extra cabin on the boat. If you can make it up, you have a place to stay.....

Why don't you let Susie and I stay on your boat and then Wesley can stay on the Four Suns with all the d**n dogs and kids. Also, when Wes is enroute, we can put up like 500 new threads that contain a lot of curse words and porn.

Tim? You just going to dinghy on over from Rock Hall or are you bringing your boat?

I will put my dinghy on my boat and come on over! If you come to Rock Hall before, we can have a drag race across the bay... I mean river.

I'll accept the challange of a drag race across the bay in the dinghy! You can even use your big boat!

Thanks for the invite we will have to see, it may just work out. That said if I am there then Gary can't talk about what a terrible job I do on CSR, wait, me being there probably would not stop that. Thanks again guys, we will have to see. It does sound like you guys are going to have a great time!!!
