420 DA Thread

To go off topic one more time. Having issues with autopilot tracking properly. Seems like it may be some type of interference regarding the fluxgate compass.
Does anyone know the location of the compass on a 2005 420 DA?
Checked the compartments under the salon floor. No luck.
Thanks and regards,
Matt

Try removing and looking behind the helm glove box. My factory Raymarine unit was mounted on the left side wall behind it.

My fluxgate was also behind the glove box on the left side. Make sure there is no metal objects in the glove box that could be the source of magnetic interference.

Thanks gentlemen.
I did have a couple screwdrivers and a couple Navionics chips in there.
Back on the lake on Monday with a chance to see if that does the trick.
Like always, a very knowledgeable and helpful group on this forum.
Thanks a million.

06 44 - has anyone replaced the cockpit drain and know that part number or at least what brand sink is there and size of drain? I think it’s 1 1/2”. Not looking to swap out sink just to install a new drain kit.

Don’t know brand but pics might help

Found It!
I was under main electric panel in the engine room, down low, port side.
Thats the one. I tried resetting it by pushing in on the red button to no avail but finally discovered the reset switch is actually the black 1” long sliding lever on the bottom left side of the breaker

I know there’s been a thread on the replacement of the cabin and forward state rooms AC units, but I can’t find it. Can somebody please give me some insight on which plug & play units are that are the most reliable & affordable plug and play units for the 44 DA?

Raising Companion Seating, Has anyone raised the companion seats up 3" or so for the Admiral to get a better view? I/m thinking of adding a rigid urethane foam block under to raise the whole sea up. Has any one tried this?

I’m trying to replace holding tank pickup tube and pump out hose. Anyone got part numbers and a vendor?

The 07 was a Vaccuflush tank, find a Vaccuflush dealer, they can help with parts.

The pump out hose is just sanitation hose. I would start there before the pickup tube.

I did marineaire for both units. They have been fine so far. The thermostat needs a square hole. That was a pain in the ass. Cut the back of the sofa to get it out….. remove central vac.

Greetings, my friend! I recommend giving the big orange filter a try. Not only will it effectively eliminate false smells, but it also boasts the largest capacity container, easing your worries for over a year. Moreover, this sustainable solution is free from any harmful chemicals. Give it a shot and enjoy a fresh and worry-free environment!
