Cleaning a heat exchanger? Should I?

Good idea to send them in to get cleaned and pressure tested. They can find/fix any pinhole leaks that you'd otherwise be unaware of. Relatively cheap to have done.

Full season boater! Every weekend we can, summer holidays spent on the boat. Last year we did 4 days over xmas on it as well as over New Years. Boating in the snow is beautiful!

    89 300 DA leak?

Does it leak when you're running or just when you're sitting? Mine has a slight leak from the y pipe gasket where it joins the transom assembly, but only leaks when the engine is running

    Outdrive Corrosion protection-Part 3

You'll have to let us know how the interlux Pacifica works out. I haven't heard of this paint before and have only used their trilux II, Usually have to repaint every 6 months.

Marine Grills... Do any work underway?

We routinely use our Dickinson grill underway, at hull speed (6-7 knots) anything over 10 knots of wind and it is useless. Even at anchor.

Tilt Working However Trim Gauge Not!

More than likely the "trim position sender" on the lower unit. They tend to corrode inside. I'd start with pulling it apart and cleaning the contacts within, having to replace the sensor is a pretty involved job, requires removing the outdrive, and pulling the bell housing and all the bellows to...

    portable heater for cockpit......

This thread has motivated me, just ordered a Xmas present for the boat; a "bus heater" for the cockpit of my boat. "Heater craft" with 4 vents, my biggest problem with winter boating was keeping the windshield from fogging up. This will give me a couple vents for the window as well as a couple...

    canvas cleaning

I'm wondering the same thing. Mine has a fair bit of algae on it. I tried regular "boat soap" and scrubbed with a soft brush. It cleaned off a lot but is still a little dirty.

    Kohler not registering oil pressure

Awesome! Thanks for the reply, I'll have to look at the wiring diagram to find where it unplugs, but I will definetly try that. Thanks!

    HP question on a 310RIB

I would definetly go with the 20hp, especially since the weight is the same. With 4 people the 15 will be working pretty hard to plane out.

    Out she comes

I'm up in Canada too, legs come out with that much growth if I leave the boat for a full year. I try to do a haul out 2x a year to minimize the work. Otherwise its a lot of scraping. What paint do you use on the outdrives? Ive been using trilux 3 but it dosent last much longer than 6 months.

    Kohler not registering oil pressure

Nothing? Any way to bypass the "Low oil pressure" automatic shutdown?

    Kohler not registering oil pressure

I've been having problems with my generator not registering any oil pressure. It has a "low oil shutdown" that currently isn't allowing the engine to run. I have replaces the oil sensor and verified that there IS oil pressure however it is not registering on the guage. Is this a problem with...

Suggestions for raising things of engine bay floor

I get the same thing with water pooling up there. Mine seems to come from the E/R vents on the side of the hull whenever it rains heavily.
