what works best to clean my off-white canvas camper cover? definitely is dirty. dish soap? any specialty cleaners? laundry detergent?

I'm wondering the same thing. Mine has a fair bit of algae on it. I tried regular "boat soap" and scrubbed with a soft brush. It cleaned off a lot but is still a little dirty.

My wife washes our gray Sunbrella in the marina's laundromat washing machine with a small amount of soap & bleach. It gets them clean and removes all mildew. After spin drying them, we lay them out to dry and install them back on the boat before they are totally dry to avoid shrinking. In other words, they go on slightly damp. If you dried them completely, you would never get them snapped back into place. After back in place and totally dry, I spray with a bulk repellent using a weed sprayer http://www.homedepot.com/p/ECHO-3-Gal-Sprayer-MS-300/204631876 . Mine has an extra long wand on it that allows me to reach out to the center of the top from both sides while standing on the gunwales.

I only use 303 products. The 303 water repellant is fantastic. The 303 vinyl protectant and vinyl/ canvas cleaner are also great products. Mold and mildew removal I would recommend marine spray nine.

303 vinyl protectant and vinyl cleaner work good for vinyl when the mechanics and other folks working on your boat leave footprints and grease n grime on the vinyl seats? Took off the shrink wrap and everybody and their brother walked on and touched the seats with their greasy hands and dirty shoes. I want their addresses and I'm going to walk through their friggin family room and kitchen with my shoes on and step on their couches, and yeah, give me the car keys too... Oh yeah, does that 303 work? LoL

I had mixed results with the 303 fabric cleaner. I had a better short term result using a mix of a cup of woolite and a cup of bleach in a gallon of water, then a thorough rinse. Then two coats of 303 fabric guard. Problem was, after about 3 months black mold would re grow.

This year I tried a new product called OBEX. I first used the cleaner which worked well and didn't leave a residue. Washed everything with it, vinyl, sunbrella, polyester, hard surfaces. After a good rinse and dry, I applied the barrier coat which claims to prevent re-growth of mildew. Then two coats of 303.

So far three months in, no mold growing back. Seems to work as claimed.

+1 on Obex. I have used on all interior carpets matresses, pillows and it works great. Zero odors or mold.
