Gauges not working? All the sudden!

You may want to remove your dashboard and you will see the gauges are plugged into a grey box (Smartcraft hub) and unplug them, count to 10, and replug them in. I know I have done this before with my SmartCraft gauges when they don't come online. Quick fix.

    Rudder Cavitation

I will check the bonding wires this weekend and ensure the rudders are protected correctly. If it is a stray current in my slip, won't it be hard to isolate where it is coming from? Any suggestions on how to determine the source of the stray current.

    Rudder Cavitation

I would be interested in opinions regarding rudder cavitation. According to my mechanic, it is typical of boats to have some rudder cavitation. I noticed some markings on my rudder when we hauled out, and was wondering what the group thought of this. Props are fine, and no unusual wear/tear...

Sea Ray 480 Motor Yacht - Replacing the rubber gasket around the cockpit windows

Thank you for the thread as I read this one closely before. Did you have any problem getting the "cosmetic" rubber gasket back into the track? My track looks like a "C" track where the rubber gasket goes. The positive is none of the windows are leaking yet, but I figure with the shrinkage...

Sea Ray 480 Motor Yacht - Replacing the rubber gasket around the cockpit windows

I have searched the forums and saw some people have replaced the rubber gasket that lays on top of the window. I contacted Sea Ray and was able to get the Taylor Made part number, but my local Sea Ray dealer informed me the entire hardtop would have to be removed in order to have it replace...

Teleflex Sea Star Hydraulic Steering Oil Reservoir - How to fill

I just purchased a 2004 Sea Ray 48 MY. I noticed this past weekend the power steering reservoir was getting low. What is the process to de-pressurize, and refill? I search the forum and the links for the manuals are no longer valid. I know once I have refilled it, I use a tire pump or air...

    Generator - Relay Switch

Noticed the battery switch would not "energize" for the generator in the salon electrical panel. I opened the engine room, and "energized" the generator where it will stay on with no issues. Generator fired up with no issues. If I "de-engerize" the generator from the salon electrical panel it...

    DirecTV with Glomex

Thanks! I think I will take your suggestion and disconnect the transom cable from the glomex amplifier and use a barrel connection to extend it to the DTV receiver in the galley. This way I can still use the glomex amplifier when I am on the hook, by switching what source the TV is using (HDMI...

    DirecTV with Glomex

I am DTV subscriber today, and the marina has a DTV dish that has open ports I can connect to. My question is can I just hook the coax in transom to the DTV switch and turn off the Glomex and receive a DTV signal to my receiver? Normally at home I just run a straight coax line from the SWM to...

    Easy Question...

Could someone point me where I can purchase the dockline straps that are use to hold docklines in the transom? The Sea Ray part # is 185538 (Rope Dockling Strap only White with Hardware).

    Calling all 360 DA owners

I purchased my 2002 360 last year and it only had 164 hours on her and I put it away last year with 180 hours. This year I put another 30 hours on her with no issues besides changing out the spark plugs on both engines. I wouldn't worry too much about the hours as long as maintenance was taken...

    Calling all 360 DA owners

I have the 02 360 and I noticed yesterday my freezer was getting warmer. I pulled out all of the freezer items this morning when I was leaving the boat, but wondering if something went out on my freezer or not. Definitely was not cold, and I was on shore power. The refrigerator was working...

Ugh.. Great way to start the 4th Jul holiday

Well first quote was received today for the repairs. Just shy of $3000. Waiting for the second quote. The the positive side, I spoke with the Office in Charge this morning, and he was briefed on the accident and was very nice on the phone.

Ugh.. Great way to start the 4th Jul holiday

Correct, no damage to the "shoebox". The port side rub rail backing breaks right near the engine blower exhaust, so I don't have to go all the way to the transom. The stainless rail breaks near the port windshield as well. Little more concerned further where the major damage was, where the...

Ugh.. Great way to start the 4th Jul holiday

Still makes my blood boil everytime I see the pictures. I have two reputable boat dealers that I do business with coming out so I can get (2) quotes for the USCG. I hope it can be repaired within the month. Hate seeing her damaged. Guess I should be happy that the fiberglass on the hull...

Ugh.. Great way to start the 4th Jul holiday

USCG will pay me after I get an estimate, submit a SF 95 form, and then wait for the USCG to process approval and payment. Figure 3 weeks to 6 months later....

Ugh.. Great way to start the 4th Jul holiday

Unfortunately, this post is a quick vent about the USCG. On the 4th Jul, USCG flagged me to be pulled over for a "Safety Inspection". They wanted to tie up to me which I was wary about as Lake Michigan was kicking up some waves near Milwaukee, however USCG wanted to tie up and board me. Upon...

    Hot Water Tank - Help

Thank you for the suggestions! I put in a fan in there last night, and left the aft salon couch cracked open so fresh air can get in there. Hopefully a week of circulating air should remove all the moisture.
