2012 Rendezvous--Coastal Carolinas Club Sea Ray Members

Ok. So the admiral is starting the packing and planning now... Anyone cooking out at the docks. She's trying to figure out what she wants to bring.

We will probably grill out on the docks at least one night and eat at Ebb and Flo's at least one night.

Gosh, this weather is looking pinpoint perfect.

I haven't made plans yet.....but it looks like one night cooking out on the dock is good for me too.

Good weather will be welcomed. We're due a good weather trip! haha Sadler, let Bob know we will be playing Saturday morning with a 8:36 tee time. Thanks. Whew, excitement is creeping in man. I'll see you on the ICW Thursday evening Sadler.

Ok Mike, looking forward to it! I talked with Tracy tonight and he's a big Go as well. We'll rendezvous Thursday on the Waccamaw.

Bob and I should arrive at the anchorage around 5, Tracy said he'd be getting there around 7. What's your ETA?

Our three boats should arrive BHI Friday from 2-4 pm.

Sadler, depending on the work situation, I plan to meet you guys around the 5-7pm timeframe. If I can meet up with Tracy I will, but if I can get there alittle earlier I'll do that. I'm not sure how long the run (time) is down the Waccamaw river to the ICW, but I hope to get to Conway between 3-5pm.
How's that for nailing it down? haha

BHI here we come!

I took my boat out of the water to clean the bottom. Tonight, when I put it back in the water, I suddenly have some type of cavitation at about 3000 rpm. It was getting dark so I putback in the slip. I hope it's something simple or I may have to stay in Carolina beach. I hope to see you guys tommorrow. We'll see....

Well good luck. We are anchored with the other two boats near Osprey Marina and should be to BHI this afternoon. 100 miles yesterday with no problems 70 miles to go today. Great trip so far.

We had the same problem last year and it turned out to be a barnacle that grew on the prop. Cavitation and rumbling started at about 2400 rpm and was at its worst above 3400 rpm. Hard to believe the stupid little thing hung on that hard. Had to scrape it off.

Just waiting for the kids to get home and we're on our way, boats been washed and is packed. Should be in bald head by 5 and a cocktail in hand by 6

Just a quick note to say............

I HATE YOU GUYS!! :smt021

Wish I was on the water with you guys!

I hope you guys have a great time!! I am still on the hard -at last 2 more weeks......

I enjoyed it. Cold weather and rain. It was nice to meet all of you.

Sadler, its hard to be down in the LBC.

OK... so any of you lurkers out there that are watching these boards and never comment, post or communicate... you are missing a great time. If you ever have the opportunity to meet up with these guys you have to make the trip... it's lots of fun and a great group to hang out with.

Really enjoyed meeting you all and really hate that your forcing me to go buy a trailer just to hang out with ya'll in the future :smt038. I'm looking forward to future trips.

Robb & Stacy

I had a super time, and enjoyed meeting your family Robb. Your boys are some good guys.

Ken, Ken, Ken.......what do I need to say. I tried to knock you out with a sand wedge shot from the bunker. I tried to kill you on the cart path, well you thought we were going to be killed......the other cart was on the road! ( I knew it the whole time, and you didn't have to scream like a girl either!)
I enjoyed the golf game, even though it rained and I was playing like a complete novice.

I hope to see you guys again on another CSR/Carolina Boaters Trip!

Oops, I didn't take any.

Maybe someone else did. There are some vids of the offshore run from Little River inlet, to Cape Fear river inlet run, floating around out there somewhere.

Sorry Chuck.

Oooooo, ouch Nicky! You told on us. haha

Well, the trip was dampened by some bad luck on the return trip home. To start, three of us had the bad luck.

Sadler, he hit a submurged log or something in the "ditch" (ICW), just after the hwy 90 bridge in N. Myrtle Beach. He had some damage to his props and skeg. Skeg damage can be repaired and props will need to be replaced. He was able to limp to Osprey Marina to get things looked at.

I hit the ledge in the "Rock Pile" section of the ICW, south of the Barefoot Landing area. A large sail boat needed alittle more room and I gave to much. The outdrive kicked up and damaged my skeg and props. All can be repaired. Nothing real bad.

Tracy, hit a submerged log or something near the Waccamaw River branch off the ICW. He suffered the most damage. He cracked his bellhousing, broke the gimbal ring, and the drive rams were torn away from the gimbal ring. The mercathode was torn off the lower also. He will get repaired and back to boating soon.

Tracy and I were running together when the unthinkable happened. Tracy was able to nurse the boat to the marina in Conway. When we put the boat on the trailer is when we realized how much/bad the damage was.

I guess it was a string of bad luck, along with some good luck. Good luck you say! Yea, noone was hurt and we all was able to make it to safety and back home. Somehow I feel like it shows good thinking on our feet, and prepardness of our crews. Meaning we all had back up plans in place and reacted quickly to make the problems, issues. And not disasters. No tow boats were called nor needed. But it's good to know we could have called if we had to.
When you boat, and travel the distances we do, things will pop up. In our boat club (Carolina Boaters), along with CSR, we were prepared!

Now, fix the boat and plan the next trip. Who's in!

Robb and Stacy and Ken--great to meet all of you. It was a great time together. Let's do it again ASAP! Ken, it is hard to be down in the LBC! I'll send you the link to the SYD. :)

We traveled 330 miles on this trip. Sometimes things happen; it's inevitable on these outings. I was in 14' of water in the middle of the ICW and whatever I hit was invisible. If you want to "preserve" your boat, it's definitely not for you. :)

Got a new 22p front prop from local prop shop today for $130 and he also straightened my back prop. I cleaned boat up from the trip, mounted the props, and I'm back on the water as I type this anchored in Cton Harbor off Fort Johnson doing a check out. I'm already ready for the next trip Mike. Maybe we marina hop this time. Bohicket, Edisto, Dataw, Beaufort, then Hilton Head in April?

I'll try to post some videos and pics.
