Any interest in a short Club Sea Ray Coastal Carolinas Rendezvous this year? Maybe for a lunch, a morning, or an afternoon? We already have a group called Carolina Boaters that meets for weekend events (some on the coast), but I'm wondering if coastal CSR members who don't have time for weekend meet-ups would be interested in gathering for a short time at a marina, restaurant, or anchorage somewhere to say hi to one another and talk about boats and boating. Depending on where folks who are interested are based, we could do near Wilmington, Myrtle Beach, Georgetown, Charleston, Beaufort, or anywhere in between. We could in more than one location if there's interest. The first CSR Charleston Rendezvous in 2007 was like this. We met at City Marina for a few hours, then split up, with some headed to town to explore, and others headed to putter around the harbor, while others cruised up the Stono River for an anchorage. With many months before the regular boating season restarts, it's a good time to start planning if there's interest. Post here or PM me if interested. Thanks.

I'm in Charleston until the end of March. I'm game.

Gitana is in Charleston until the end of March......Mike and Pig Dog are freezing their arses of in NYC.....and Pig Dog is pissed!!!!

It's starting to look like we might get something going.

@Turtlesboat, depending on the date, we might get some of the CSR CB'ers to join us, and hopefully we'll get a few more members who've not done this before near and in Charleston to join in. We could do mid March before you have to leave.

@Goin' Coastal and Rbryn, looks like Wilmington now has two members ready to meet up. Maybe I could join in as well. A friend who also has a Sea Ray and I were already thinking about a two boat cruise up the ICW to BaldHead Island, one of my favorite places. It's just down the Cape Fear River from Wilmington.

Anyone else interested? From any of the Carolina's coastal areas?

With Wilmington and Charleston being the extremes, maybe meet at Myrtle Beach? We've done that trip down to Myrtle Beach and stayed at Barefoot Landing for an overnighter. March would be a great time to plan a trip.

I would love to meet up with some fellow CSR folk this season! My problem is getting away from business here in BFT, NC. Depending on the seasonal action I may be able to slip away to MB for a weekend trip. I'll follow the thread and see what develops. Of course I'm always open to meeting here in BFT...it's home!

Back to boat projects...oh, and work of course.

Hey MB late March might work for everyone. Turtlesboat, maybe we coordinate with your trip back north? Or will you go outside?

Bald Head is a great place, we would also do MB or Beaufort NC. Keep this going

we are going to take it slow working our way back up. No rush to get into the still cold weather up north.

OK, so now it sounds like Myrtle Beach OR Baldhead Island for everyone? If you don't know about Baldhead, check it out here: http://www.baldheadisland.com/explore/gallery.aspx. It's a private island--very tropical very beautiful--with no cars, only golf carts, and a first rate marina--bath tub-like water inside with no current, very easy to dock, and polite dock hands--that's my experience. Lots of fun to rent a golf cart and just drive around to beaches and the forests. Or ride bikes. We took our family there for many years parking on the mainland and taking the ferry over, but boating to Baldhead is even better. But maybe folks would rather do MB? Or Baldhead?

Did you have to mention the golf carts! Susie won't be going. :)

I keep my boat at Cricket Cove Marina in Little River, so Barefoot Landing or Baldhead would be good.

By my count, so far, we've got Goin' Coastal, Turtlesboat, Rbryn, Kkalsch, bahamabreisus, Sidnet, myself, plus possibly islandhopper00 and Reveler's Revenge. That's 7-9 boats, more than enough for a great rendezvous. Please chime in if you feel differently, but I'd vote for Baldhead Island. Lots to do and see, plus a very nice marina. So now we need some dates--in late March it looks like. I'm open in March, so how about some suggestions for March dates--you guys speak up. Turtle--do you have a date set yet for your return?

The only date I have that is set in stone is that I have to be out of my marina the last day of March, other than that, i'm all ears. Doesn't mean I can't leave a week or two earlier. And it doesn't mean I can't poke up the coast either.

I second the Bald Head island marina.

Maybe we can stop in MB for night one, and Baldhead night two. Barefoot would be a nice stopover, lots of shops and restraunts. The house of blues is there also. I also like Harbour Gate marina in North Myrtle, Filets the marina restraunt is great.

Even a first night stop over in Georgetown would be awesome. The waterfront is neat.

Sadler,
How about that last weekend in March. The 30th, 31st, & April 1st & 2nd. That ties into my spring break and then we would be able to attend. Also, the later we go, the more likely the weather will be warmer that time of year. Just my 2 cents.
