390 EC complete restoration thread

OK OK The boat is great, but what about the bow babes???????:smt038

Kidding aside, you did a fantastic job and should be proud...

very pround! I know the CSR family is very proud of you!

Is that a Borel raw water flow alarm? Good idea...
Didn't know you installed flo-scans! Curious- where did you find the room to mount the pulsation dampers?

Do you normally cruise at 2500+?

Every bit as nice as a brandy-new boat! Now, whatcha going to do with all your spare time, LOL....

Yes it's a Borel, cheap and effective! (I hope)

I usually cruise at 2450/2500.

I'll post a photo of the flo-scans. Not much room, you are right...

Spare time???? ...thinking of another classic car for this winter :smt021

I just took 45 minutes and went through this rebuild. First time I seen it. What an amazing job. Now I will take the next 2 hours to actually read all the comments.

What a great job!!!

That is incredible!!!
We were in Italy last year. Now, I wish that we would have saved the trip for this year. The first tourist stop would have been to look at your boat!!

First time I saw this thread, after you mentioning it in the General Discussion Forum. I too went back and started from the beginning and caught up on the entire project. A Beautiful restoration!! Congratulations, remarkable job! As one who also loves to restore old things, I can relate to the passion you must have. But I am quickly bored after a project such as your's wraps up....what's next!?!!

Hello all,
This is my first post so sorry if i do not make much sense...

the updates look to be the same that I am taking on with my 1988 390. Couple of quesrtions as far as your seat boxes on the back deck, were they in good condition or do you have to replace them? Mine were competely rotted and it was necessary to have them redone? I plan i using the same material to duplicate unless someone knows a better route.

Also quick question for everone. I had both props returned and a prop shaft replaced by marina service center and when they returned the boat the service center told me that I had props that are to big for my engines. They said i have 21 in diameter on it right now and I should have 18 in diameter props......? They stated that if i continue to run it with the 21 in diameter i could blow the engine. So with that said does anyone know what i shold have? I have twim 7.4 mercs with 1"1/2 prop shaft.

Thanks and cant wait to see more pictures.

yea, this is an old post, but anyways, when I had my prop's done, the guy said they were square props, 20 inch by 20 pitch, I get about 4400 rpm at wot.. same boat. Dan

Ken, here we are!

The tank is 71.26" x 28.74" x 11.22" and should hold 99.5 gallons (I hope I made my conversion right )

yea, it's strange, but I think true, page 4 of the pdf below, and my apologies to Pietro for hi-jacking the thread. let's get back to complimenting one of the finest 390's in existance..:smt038 gues I can't upload such a large attachment, here's a screen shot of page 4, if anyone want's the pdf of the tranny, just let me know.. Dan

guess i can't upload 149k, oh well, one tranny is 2.04 to 1, the other 2.10 to 1

Ok Pietro, You re-did your boat and yet, we see no bottles of Prosecco on the table. What's the deal?

See, I did my little re-hab and of course, Prosecco to celebrate. You are going to have to post more pictures! You can't do all that work and then just show us a couple of teaser pictures.
