Re: 270 Select EX Thread
Am I the only guy w/ a 6.2 / 320 HP engine on this thread? I "only" get 44 to 45 mph out of it but it looks like I wouldn't get much more if I had the 435 HP.
I've had my boat since August 2005 but repowered w/ a new long block last year and, as some of you might be aware, SR replaced the entire hull last year as well. I can tell you that this hull is much better than the first.
We just returned from our fourth trip up the Mississippi from LeClaire Iowa to Lake City Minnesota and back. That's another story. What an "adventure" it was this time. 25 to 30 mph winds on Lake Pepin, one "daring sea rescue", overnighting in a t-storm w/ 60 to 70 mph winds, a plague of mayflies, a wave washing over the transom in lock #5, a check engine alarm in the middle of the lake (had to replace the IAC controller motor), the windshield wiper falling off & driving in a frog strangling rain, I could go on.
Anyway, I love the boat.
