is that anchor that came with your boat?

i always make sure someone is watching mine when bringing it up...

well I don't always have someone on the boat with me. I guess I could have brought it up slower when I knew anchor was getting close, but I just wasn't thinking it was going to flip it over the bow :wow: A remote switch on the bow would fix that (like on most cruisers) and my previous 280 sundancer.

in my 280 sundancer and I'm sure a 250 SLX or 300 SLX you can see the anchor coming up and not hidden by that dumb anchor hatch.... oh well... It is a bad design, but I still love the boat.

And yes, that is the original anchor, why????

My anchor is not stainless, is the original, and it still looks almost new. What kind of chemicals are at the bottom of your lake to make your anchor rust like that?

I don't see any rust......I do see some good 'ol GA red clay on the anchor.

But it ain't the look of the anchor that bothers me :smt089

another shot of the anchor a few weeks before she leaped onto my bow..... it's not a polished anchor, but it isn't rusted...

Sorry, my bad. I have heard of your red clay but had no idea it would stick to an anchor like that.

Back from the lake and I only took some lame pictures of items that need warranty work. There were more than I expected. On a positive note, My son and I made a pass on the lake at 56 mph on the GPS. That was with about a 1/2 tank of fuel, one heavy captain and one light passenger.
Attatched is a picture of a bracket behind the radio that came loose and was rattling when we would cross a wave. I also had the smartcraft guages quit working on Saturday. By that I am refering to the display at the botom of the tach. When the smartcraft display went we lost the speedometer also. Has anyone had that problem? I will do better with the pictures in a couple of weeks when we go back to KY.

Yep........ yacht certification = captain discretion with life jackets

Good to know. Thanks again.
Top speed with 10 people on board. Trimmed properly. 40mph.
Does this sound right? The only thing is, you'd think with that statistic, that I'd get to 50mph no problem with 3 people... However, with 3 people (adult, teenager, child) it only goes about 43mph. Weird?

Yes. Check that the wire harness that attaches to the Tach didn't come lose. That was the problem with ours. I pluged the harness back in and everything worked again.

Thanks for the info highslice,
She is going back to the dealer on Friday to cover a few warranty items and I hope they take care of it then.

Okay guys. We had the boat out today. My dad and I were the only two on board (Adult + Teenager). Gas was at 1/2 - 3/4. Not sure how much water was on board. I'm guessing about half. The ocean was like glass today, with only about a 5mph wind off the land. It was perfect.

WOT was 4600RPM at 45.1 MPH GPS. :smt013 Trim tabs all the way retracted (bow up), and the outdrive was at the 4th trim level (just before cavitation).

What's going on?! I'm going to call Hyannis Marina right now.

I had 4 adults and 4 kids, full fuel and water and 2 full coolers. Full of other crap that non-boaters bring to the boat, tabs extended and trim at about 1/4. I was making 46 @ 4,000 RPM, no problem. Not WOT. You need to get them to look at it!

that's piss poor and unacceptable..... have them look at it yesterday. I hit 45 without a sweat. Here is a pic of me cruising at 35 mph and 3500 rpm.... easy.....

Yeah, it sucks. :smt089 That's also very interesting because, as I've said before, for us 30mph is 3500 rpm
