One of my black accent stripe at the bottom of the color band on the hull is turning "chaulky". I've tried vinyl cleaner and wax and it just won't go back to black. Anyone else have this problem?

i've noticed the same thing but the stuff always comes off.

My stripe was grey, not black, but I had my stripe removed when I bought it as on a hull this size I love the simple clean "no stripe" look. Only the SLX logo on rear (which is not a part of the stripe anyway) Just my opinion.

Just see if you can have it removed because deperado's boat looks pretty sweet :thumbsup:

Here is a pic of my flag and my Magma grill mount. I had rod holders put in my boat just for my Magma grill mount. It's a heavy duty mount that you can leave the grill in while you are running the boat.

rod holders are nice! I'm new to this, in the process of buying my friends '05 SLX. I love it. I am using it this summer with my wife and 2 little ones and we love it so far. Out of Long Island, NY. Couple of little things with it, seems to have a couple of pinch points in the seats that tore the vinyl. Have to fix that. And I get a trim tab fault every now and then. Not sure about that. Boat runs great though. It does everything we want in a boat. The head is a little small but at least it has one. Not sure about top speed, have to bring a gps on the boat sometime. Thanks for all the info so far. Look forward to reading more

desperado - The pictures look great! Looks like you have a very nice/fun set up. How is the flag mounted, though?

Glen959 - Welcome! The 250 SLX is a great boat. Just a tip, update your signature with the year, model, and engine of your (soon to be) boat. Perhaps a photo would be nice as well. Good luck!

Another question while I think of it...

Our current 270 SLX is equipped with docking lights.
When I am cruising through the harbor at dusk, is it appropriate to run these? Should these be used solely when coming into the marina at night... or can I use them while cruising?

Let me know what you all do...

There is a reason they are called docking lights. It is considered unacceptable to use them for any other purpose, especially cruising.

Uh oh.. my top RPM is 4520.. something's not right. Also note: it was a struggle to get to 4500.

Did you anti-foul your boat ? it happened to me with a previous boat , i had it in the water 3 weeks and the thing was just not moving anymore .

I bought the boat brand new in April . By now i can see rust patches on most of the handles , screws , ladder even the sink . Did anyone face a similar situation ?

Have you been hosing the boat down with freshwater after each outing?
