Bow Thruster?

That's not a personal attack it's a comparison using the term "like". Called a similie, you might have heard of it being college ejumicated and all. Nothing to get over. Just trying to keep the playing field level.
And I do like it here. Except for the handful of arrogant assholes that are worshipped on a daily basis, the majority of members are respectful and helpful. If you're going to have rules apply them to all. I think that's all Wingless is trying to say.

The site does have an infraction system, its has been used twice at this point. Ironically once on Four Suns and once on Wingless. I did not learn about smilies in college, but I do know what they are. And it spelled Edumicated, not ejumicated. Jeez

Just for the record FC3 got it once too...but that was just me overstepping my authority

Wes has given me more than one... I think I got three... He hands them out like candy on Halloween.

Would anyone ever take a bow rider with bow thrusters and a portable Honda generator to the Bahamas???

:lol::smt043:lol::smt043:lol::smt043

Just to keep it on topic: Believe it or not you could get a bow thruster on the 270SD:huh: I don't remember seeing it as an options on the 290SD.

Personally. . .I would like a bow thruster. Might not need it.

Heck, the way I use my boat. . I don't even need a GPS. Charts are more than adequate. Dead Reckoning works great too. But I like my GPS :)

And it remains one of my most treasured possessions to this day. I'm going to have it framed and put above the mantle one of these days.

...as soon as I can talk my wife into that idea, anyway.

I saw one at a dealers and asked why. The salesman said that some inexperienced boaters think they will need it in a "big boat".

At least here I can learn about bow thrusters and watch grown men cry about having the reputation that thy earned. Could be worse. I could be known as the smart ass, half Italian, more than half broke truck driver, with an old ass boat that has parts that are no longer made, scattered in 3 different states... for now.
Wingless, you thought you had it bad?

My boat has a thruster. I will tell you I love it for the following:

1. I didn't pay to have it installed....came with the boat.
2. It makes both arriving and leaving the dock a "stress free" situation. With a wife who is not as sold on the boating lifestyle as me, this is a big help. No more communicating "loudly" with the post docking "I'm sorry I got loud" thing. This is done using reason # 3 below.
3. The best reason for us is that it helps "hold" the boat in place while the lines are being cleated or uncleated. This allows my kids the perfect opportunity to help in the docking/leaving process.

I dock the boat. The wife gets off in a calm orderly fashion as the kids go to the bow and stern (life jackets on of course). Wife hands each a line while dad "maintains" position. The lines are set and the beers opened. The wife opens her book again and all is well. :smt038

With the kids helping, and having fun, they want to come back.....which helps with the whole wife thing.

I will say any/all subsequent boats of mine will have a thruster.

Hope this helps get this thread back on track .

+1. I got my 370 used and it had a bow thruster. It is making the docking experience easier. I use it less than 20% of the time, but I know it is there. It is like having a full time mate at the bow.

The CSR Forum Rules define acceptable and unacceptable conduct. That includes a prohibition against personal attacks.

Prior to yesterday, the practice was to define a personal attack as some sort of defamation combined with a specific identification.

The rampant juvenile exploited that definition and omitted the specific identification during the incessant trolling and personal attacks.

And yes, I was also cited for: “Insulted Other Member(s)”, for my specific identification combined with my implied insult. The result was member(s) had their tender sensibilities offended and I incurred a 10 point fine.

Now that we’re in the Wild West, with open defamation, slander, mocking and every other form of childish behavior any and all rules are pointless.

Clearly this is a better environment to discuss boating. This is conduct that every parent would be proud to utilize as an example of proper behavior and conduct for their children.

This idiocy is even worthy for publication, provided CSR releases their content to a third party.
