I think I see the problem. We've been assuming that wingless is an adult. I now believe that is an error. We are actually dealing with a precious 12 year old princess who is use to mummy and daddy bending over backward to please her.

I've tried to be nice reading this sillyness. This reminds me of my two kids, except they have the warewithall to handle each other. Even my 5 year old doesn't come to me crying "He's picking on me:smt089"! Dude, this is a big boy forum and guess what, there are big boys here. You didn't hear anybody cry "Wah, Wingless is picking on me:smt089!!" when this was written.

Long story short I guess I'm jealous of you. I wish to god that my life was so great that I have the time to make up problems where there is none. Must be nice to not have real problems. Seriously dude. I'll be honest, I'll be lucky to get my boat in the water by the 4th of July at the rate things are going. Trucking buisness sucks now. I am now saving up for a mere $200.00 part for my boat. Not to mention the weather around here is not helping. Now to make the better money I need to stay away from home longer. Meaning once I do get the parts I can't get home to install them. And then there seems to be no end in sight to the misery. QED No Bailout For Me!!!
Not to vent since this can be entertaining, But dude GET A REAL PROBLEM:smt021.

Couldn't concur more....I started the thread and asked the question to get information and opinions. Seriously, if you want to rant and chant, get a face book account like my teenage girls have and "chat" on there....I'm all for the comraderie, jokes and humor (like Gary's full synopsis on which burgers to cook), but this thread, I had hoped, would help me make a decision about spending $10-20k....didn't work.

I had a 300 with a bow thruster and genset. Like many said its just another tool and makes life so much easier and stress free. We boat no matter what. The thruster has more then earned its keep. The genset on the 300 will make the stern squat at the dock. So much so that things will roll of the cockpit table. Again. if u use the boat the genset will come in handly. Get the thruster enjoy the boat. I havent heard a single person say I wish i didnt have one !!!

The way I see it. Gary can be a smart ass, But his knowledge and commitment to saftey cannot be ignored. Guys like him and so many others have given me a new found respect for the water and boats in general. I have been out of boating for a while Since Dad sold the original Jitts in 1995. We mostly stayed in the lake. This forum and the people on it show the good and the bad and offer tons of info. Sometimes the best advice comes in the form of sarcasim.

Are we back on track now?

Anyway, I've been considering for some time now to put a stern thruster (only) on my cruiser because I've always wanted to have a little latteral movement to push me away or to a dock when maneuvering. I've never in 2 years of owning the boat had trouble but have always thought, "if i could only move sideways only in the back..." that would be great!

Anyone have one? Use it this way? Or still only use the bow thruster...
 
You should be able to move your boat sideways with twins and a bow thruster... I can pretty much parallel park mine... no stern thruster needed.
