Whats your Boats name and what does it mean to you

The name of my 250DA is 'Anger Management'. I own a commercial construction company and things can get pretty tense at times. The boat is my therapy.

My very first boat I bought in 1989, a 1987 Starcraft 16' runabout, was named Slippery When Wet when I bought it. I then sold that boat in 1992 and didn't buy another boat until 2003. I then bought a used (pile of crap) 18' Caravelle and named it Slippery When Wet. Only owned that pile of crap for 1 year, then bought a 2003 Larson LXI190 which didn't have room on the back for a name, so it went un-named. Re-vived the name last year with this Sea Ray. I decided to leave off the "II's" and "III"s

SEAS THE DAY

It means......get out on the water and have fun!!!

Named ours "Minnie's Playground" Wifes nick name is Minnie and she loves the water

The 330 I just sold was named Liquid Asset because I'm a financial advisor, and it was an asset, and used on the water.

The new 550 we're naming Beachcomber because that's what our boating style is like. We enjoy finding a new place to anchor, jumping in the dinghy and exploring.

named my boat "four day" being a fireman and working a kelly shift I get four days off in a row often and thats when we go have fun. just a general term in the fire service have a good four day or workin one more then four.

My new to me boat is gonna be renamed "Ocean Voyager" a name that just sprung to mind , and has a nice ring to it..

also in Spanish it still reads "Oceano Voyager" so works well.

Ever since I was a child, I have had the nickname "Lucky", for everyone believes I have the best luck around! When I got a boat a few years ago, naturally I had to name it "Lucky's". Well we decided it was time to get a new (used) bigger boat this year, so I started looking and new I wanted a Sea Ray. I found a gentleman who had a beautiful, well maintained and low hour Weekender 300 and I fell in love with it! Well I also have a Harley obsession and currently had a custom built Harley Softail Deuce. The guy with the boat really wanted a Harley. Yep...you figured it out! We worked out a trade and I now have my dream boat. Soooo, this boat is "Lucky's Deuce". Not only does the Deuce give me my #2 for second Lucky's, but it also pays respect to the bike that got me the boat!

Our last name is Wright. Have always been asked if "I am always right?". So we named our new 330 "Forever Starboard"

Heavy Fuel - Many think I'm referencing the sports boat or the engine. In a way I am, but thats not the real reason. My wife actually decided on that. It's one of my favorite songs by Dire Straits and as my wife states "it's kinda how you live your life" :)

Heavy Fuel .................

"heavy fuel" damn right!!!!!!!

last time I was sober, man I felt bad
worst hangover that I ever had
it took six hamburgers and scotch all night
nicotine for breakfast just to put me right
'cos if you wanna run cool
if you wanna run cool
if you wanna run cool, you got to run
on heavy, heavy fuel

my life makes perfect sense
lust and food and violence
sex and money are my major kicks
get me in a fight I like dirty tricks
'cos if you wanna run cool
yes if you wanna run cool, you got to run
on heavy, heavy fuel

my chick loves a man who's strong
the things she'll do to turn me on
I love the babes, don't get me wrong
hey, that's why I wrote this song

I don't care if my liver is hanging by a thread
don't care if my doctor says I ought to be dead
when my ugly big car won't climb this hill
I'll write a suicide note on a hundred dollar bill
'cos if you wanna run cool
if you wanna run cool
yes if you wanna run cool, you got to run
on heavy, heavy fuel

My Boats name is Mann a Ray. Was the name on the boat when I got her. PO's last name was Mann. I didn't feel like going thru the boat renaming ritual and had no problem keeping her name. She has been good...

We should close on our "new to us" Sundancer next week and we will rename it "Lucky Enough". My wife always says that "if you're lucky enough to be be at the beach, you're lucky enough!". For me it's a statement about being blessed with many good things in life.

Great thread parkerboatman! I always find it interesting to hear about boat names. If you ever get a hold of another big ChrisCraft I have a good name we used to nickname an old friends boat. The name was the "Tremendous Woody"
We came up with a name for our Sea Ray because we own an island called Anchor Island. When we're out cruising we're 'away' so we just had to name her "Anchors Aweigh", the old nautical term for when the anchor has been lifted and you're under way.

Biggy Nuff. Cause it is.

Our "Annie Laurie" is named after my mother-in-law. Thats the name her daddy called her. My nick "TAWCAT" and the name of our very first party barge honored Ann as well. She was a great mother in law, always helped us along, so we came up Thanks Annie We Can Afford This!

She knew we loved boating and was actually jealous of our boats because they took us away from her during the summer. She knew we always wanted a bigger boat, but made us promise we'd never be frivilous enough to buy a new boat.

So after she passed we found our '05 320 and gave her the honor of being with us every time we go out.

I named my boat Private Getaway I aways wanted my own space were I can go an hang out with me,and myself.....
