Take delivery of boat in two weeks.
When us kids were young, we were told by my old man over and over again, 90% of any job is preparation. We used to hate it, particularly as it became more evident he was right.
As this boat is a joint adventure, him as a retirement "investment", me as an escape from study and work, we'll be christening her "Preparation".
"Preparation" reflects various other aspects of our current endeavors too, but it is to honor that very valuable lesson we learned.

ours is called "Auld Alliance" which as the historians among you will know is the special relationship between the Scots and French which dates from the 1700's.

35 years ago whan I was 16 we had a kegger at my mom and dads while they were on vacation. This good looking chick showed up I didnt know. I remember watching her from afar. Listen to Neil Youngs Harvest Moon and it tells the story. We will be dancing on our new boat this summer.

Well, it has been a year since anyone has posted the derivative of their boat's name, so I will start it off for 2013. Actually, one of our friends came up with our boat's name. My wife's name is LAUrie & my name is KEn. As we are low key type people, the boat's name (LAUKE) is pronounced lowkey. Now it's your turn.
