Whats your Boats name and what does it mean to you

We had just bought Gretchen Wilson's new CD when some friends asked us to accompany them on a cruise to another marina to pick up their new-to-them 37' Sea Ray. On the way back we were trying out the stereo system in their new boat with our new CD. We took a side trip to our local "sand bar" where everybody hangs out so Mike could show off his new boat with the stereo blasting "I'm Here for the Party, Yeah!" Right then and there we knew that was the name for our new-to-us 1998 SR290DA and on that 4th of July, we renamed her "Here 4the Party!" It's funny that our friends often told us they never see us unless there's a party, AND, since our dock has a reputation for partying, it seemed a very fitting name for our boat. Just for kicks, after an outing we often idle back to our dock loudly announcing our return with Gretchen's song!

The only problem is my youngest daughter thinks it sounds dirty..I told her its one word not two.:smt043

Alert 5 is a condition of high alert for aircraft crews on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier, in which they are ready to launch within five minutes. Fighter aircraft are placed on the steam catapult complete with flight crew, armament, and fuel, ready to defend the carrier battle group from any unforeseen threat.

Flight crews sometimes get bored being assigned the Alert 5, as they can be ordered to remain strapped in, engines off, for hours on end. Zzzzzzzzz. I used to bring a good book.

There are also other levels- Alert 30, Alert 60. Jet must be launched off the front end within that time frame if a threat appears.

I flew off of the USS Theodore Roosevelt and USS Enterprise, so it has special meaning to me. But also, our boat meets the same criteria (tongue in cheek), ready to go within a few minutes of hitting the marina and dropping her in the water. Then just hanging out with nothing to do but chill out.

The '73 240 I named Stugots. Italian slang for Balls. There are many reasons. I am born and raised in New Jersey. I am also a big Soprano's fan. And lastly if you knew me, it would all make sence. I was always a billy bad ass.

Now the new one (SRV200), I am problably gonna keep the tridition. "Moxie". She is smaller, lighter, and has a bigger engine then Stugots. Stugots has the 307 CID OMC. Moxie has the 350 CID Merc. Also I am a wrench and problably can get more power in the future.

Finally got my "new" 260DA in the water for a real outing this weekend. I had to do the whole renaming ritual... It was previously named "Tee Party" and now has been renamed to "Impulse Buoy II". The wifey came up with this one considering we decided to get another boat on a Friday night and purchased this the following Saturday. To us it means "Impulse Buy II" - the first boat, a Chaparral 180SXi, was also an impulse buy... Go figure! ;p

Buying our 88 sundancer was truly an After Thought. Hence the name, My brother inlaw stepped up to a 33 footer and offered us his 268 at a great price. I knew the history of the boat and the fact that he was meticulous when it came to the upkeep and maintenance of the boat. We have enjoyed it when they had it and now we cove and tie up together for even more fun in the sun.

Bought a 2006 240 Sundancer. Wife came up with the name Sea Glass. When our kids were growing up we camped on a small island and would roam the beach at low tide and pick up all the smooth over broake glass of different colors. Called it Sea Glass..... This has a dual meaning as the boat is Fiber Glass and it will be on the Sea.... So we now will have Sea Glass....

AMFM II...I'm a radio guy. So,that's the obvious. The not so obvious is "All My F#%king Money".
