What Mods do you have planned for the winter?

1) Do something to make my helm seat more comfortable. Higher pedestal or something. Wish I had a flip-up seat.

Short List:
Replace stbd exhaust manifold (has a crack from previous Owner).
Change engine oil before winter sets in.
Set up circuit for bilge heater.
Canvas cover for fron isenglas.

1. I/O Bellows and gimbal bearings, check raw ater system for air leaks
2. Replace faux wood gauge panels with teak & install Smartcraft 5000 monitor
3. replace throttle & shift control + cables
4. add second depth sounder for smartcraft setup
5. Don't want to, but probably should, change the valves in the vacum pump for the head after the holding tank has had a winter to dispate.
6. Go to the boat show

For the future I want to get rid of the interior carpet as well, Has anyone done this? Any idea of the best way to remove the old carpet?

I've been givving some thought to this as well when I replace the throttle shift controls. I have been looking at Livorsi and they have matched wheels and throttle/shift setups. My problem is projects with more priority.

Mine is definitely going to be radar and an arch. I now have a surplus OEM aluminum tube (wakeboard) arch that mounts to removable brackets. I will have to modify these slightly to fit the side of my hull just below the windshield sides. It has some nice curvature in each of the long dimensions and should look much better that the similar universal ones available.

I am seriously considering adding a 26" LCD/DVD in the cabin. The existing 13" CRT TV/DVD would be replaced by shelves. I'm still in the exploration stage on this one, so if anyone has done this, I'd love to hear about it.

Teakster has done this on his 340, I'm pretty sure. Search under his name for his threads on boat electronic modifications.

Replace the TV/VCR unit in the forward berth with a TV/DVD unit.
Install a 20'' flat screen in the main salon with a seperate DVD player & surround sound.
Install a 15" flat screen TV in the cockpit.

.....and if winter work is busy......a bow thruster in the spring.

Question........ there was a post awhile ago.....I think on a 40'DA....where someone made a wine storage compartment....out of the old TV spot.
....anyone remember it ??? I would like to see that again...............it was a great idea.....I need to do that with the old TV hole..

Sirius weather radio is the new addition for '08.

CJ,
I have a 320 and put in a 26" HD LCD/DVD like you are talking about...It's also hooked up to my Garmin 5208 and I can select to see what is on the Garmin on the TV (XM weather, chartplotter etc). I also am an Apple person, and have it hooked up to an Apple TV, which is a small device that stores all my music, movies, photos and when close to WiFi, You Tube.

Here's a photo of the tv showing the xm weather screen from the Garmin....

Barry,

That looks great. Some questions for you -

- How easy was it to reroute the coax cables from th existing TV location?

- What make/model is that TV?

- How did you mount it?

- What did you do where the old TV was located?

- Change out the impeller
- Send my props in to get them cleaned up and balanced. (previous owner put some nicks in them)
- Sand and Paint my skag (also from previous owner abuse)
- Upgrade stereo system; Speakers, amplifier, & a second battery (if my budget allows)
