should be 1800. Until you fix that, it will keep shutting down. You should look at the linkage between the governor and the carb. If you disconnect it, the engine should run at idle. You should then be able to manually rev it to somewhere around 1800, and note the distance to the governor arm. Hate to say it, but it sounds like the governor isn't governing.Ok got a digital timing light hooked up and it is defiantly over revving about 2400 rpm suppose to be 1900, I tried adjusting the speed screw but it doesn't change anything it just keeps revving up to around 2400 rpm....??????
Because you are bypassing the oil pressure switch by holding down the (wait for it) bypass switch.Just about to pull my hair out !!! I can take the wires off the oil sending unit and leave them off crank and it starts and it will run as long as I hold the run switch down I can pull back on the governor linkage and slow it down to 1700-1800 rpm let off the switch and it still goes dead. I don't understand why it runs with the oil wires off ?? Put on a new oil sender and it does the same thing nothing changes....
