Transom mounted grill side tables

Todd, enjoying your latest endeavors. What about a suction cup mount of sorts?

hey todd, what kind of hardware did you use to mount the cockpit table to the floor?

Ken, give me some dimensions (info@vikingbay.co) of what you are thinking for a cockpit table and I'll shoot you back a bid.
Thanks for looking.

OK, I would be looking for a curved tabletop like what was originally on the 410. I can get a freestanding base for it and attach, just no time to build the top! Damn working to support my boating habit!

I will take one with leg so I dont have to drill holes
Are they readey to buy
I will make to order. Show me a picture of your transom locker so I can verify the mount. I can make a solid base with the rubber foot.

Thanks Quint. I thought of something like that but don't want to hear the complaints later "hey your table fell down and my 6 filet mignons slid overboard."

It's mounted to the original hardware. I just unscrewed the base bracket from the fiberglass table and screwed it to the wood one. It works perfectly.

Do you have a picture or rough dimensions?

So far it seems like the mounting hardware may be a sticking point? So I did some more research this AM and think that a 60 degree base with straight tube, with enough length to cut to fit for your specific model may work the best. I will provide a rubber foot on the end.
Thoughts?

Todd, just stumbled upon this link. Nice work with the wood! I've been eyeing that frisbee table since the day I purchased our 280DA. However, being a hobbyist woodworker myself (feel free to browse here), I'll be doing something similar myself. But if I didn't enjoy working with wood, I'd be all over your creations!

I have never yet created anything for our boat, but I was once contracted out to build a replica Mahogany boat ladder for a big old wooden Chris-Craft, and I've built a kayak and paddle! I also have plans this Spring to lay down a slatted wood floor in the cabin, and also in that small step-down area in the cockpit.

Never thought of the grill area table, but then again, we just purchased our Magma grill over the winter and I have yet to mount, or use it... Great idea!

Tom

Update I was able to sort through this and found a nice 60 degree mounting bracket that works great.

I like that much better, no drilling the transom!

Todd, What a great idea! Can that 60 degree mounting bracket come with a thumb type screw? I'll have to measure to see if it will work for me. Good luck! Brian

Yes. The thumb screw is available and matches the thread on the base.

Since the latest version doesn't anchor into the trunk, I would think two legs, each a few inches inside the outer edge would be more stable to prevent leaning on an outside corner and having the opposing corner pop up off the trunk handle. Or do those trunk handle clips hold super tight?

Those clips do hold very tight, but if you'd like I can add two legs. Each leg can snap into the adjacent clip for storage. Add $25 for the materials if you want two legs.

I had the boat home today to install a transom remote trim switch and took some pictures while it was outside.
I thought I'd share the updated photos.

When it comes to design, the sky is the limit. An optional feature could be a mini fiddle rail to keep your plate with those beautiful steaks from sliding into the drink when some idiot ignores the "no wake" zone.
