Touch my junk and I'll have you arrested!

I don't know where child screening was said to be ok by me. But i really thought you had grown up by now i guess i was wrong. It's amazing how brave some people can be behind there computer. and in case anybody would like to know that don't pat down children according to the major news outlets, i'm not saying that they haven't done in the past. It must have been before you had a choice between scanning and a search. I don't remember who said that i only had 35 post's like it makes a difference and who really cares, excuse me mister big poster guy, that was pretty damn funny, i guess he was profiling me.:huh::huh::smt038:smt038 ps, to the person from long island who said he lives closer to ground zero than me, speak facts if you are going to write junk about me you have no idea where i live

That may improve it some (just out of sheer awareness and backlash).

But the private screeners still have to follow TSA guidelines - including pat-downs when required. They don't get to opt out of security, or choose their own guidelines or operating procedures.

Reasoning with twomad is like trying to reason with a muslim fanatic. They love to debate and argue but they have no idea what they are talking about.

Twomad, I think there is a supervisory position waiting for you at TSA. You would fit right in.

You clearly missed my point or ignored it. It wasn’t the number of posts but the lack of interaction with this site. You have no interest in it other than to post unpopular opinions to sensationalize a topic. No one has any credibility in you as we don't know who you are or where you’re coming from. That was the point but somehow I think you already knew that as you have done a great job of baiting us Mr. Profiler.

NOTE TO CSR MEMBERS: He has baited us. Time to end this thread. Bye.

I fly 2 to 4 times a week, 47 weeks a year. I've gone through security more times than I care to think about. On the face of it your comment makes absolute sense....but have you ever noticed how little attention TSA pays to airport employee, pilot and flight attendent ID? At MANY airports I see this group wave their ID like it's a magic wand, barely stopping at the TSA agent and they're off to the screening machines. Now in your world, what stops a terrorist from putting on a pilots uniform, waving his magic wand ID badge NOT get xrayed and then go about his business once aboard? Sorry, but until they get serious about the level of professionalism in TSA agents and their ability to properly pre-screen anyone flying....then bring on the body scanners. If you don't like the pat down, go through the scanner....or get aboard Greyhound. Flying is not a constitutional right.

I fly quite a bit (over 100K this year), and have done so for 15 years.

Is it just me, or when the TSA was created, didn't "most" of the agents come from the ranks of the unemployed or underemployed? Do many/any of them look like credible law enforcement types? While I wouldn't expect them all to be schooled at Quantico, they ought to have the professionalism, training, and experience we expect from other local law enforcement agencies.

To me, many of them did, and continue to, look like they are more qualified to be greeters at your local W-Mart.

I have no confidence the TSA agents really know what they're doing or that they will ever find any bad guys - except by sheer luck or stupidity on the part of the bad guy.

At the very least, there should be a nationwide (and include your Canadian cousins up north) system in place where persons who have been screened in advance (ie: Nexus-type screening, or government employee type advanced screening) can have access to a quicker/simpler airport screening line.

I haven't used the Clear program (flyclear.com), but would if it was nationwide.

Now, don't get me started with Customs. I cross the border 100 times a year, and that process stinks too...

PS: I may be late to this party.... been flying all week....

According to PayScale, the average screener makes about $37K per year. But now they get additional benefits - like feeling up anyone that looks interesting.

Good link Norcal. I've got twenty bucks that say Michael Moore does a mockumentary on the TSA... It would be good to see.

(I'm sure there are lots of Moore-haters on this site, but even as a Conservative, I like most of his work)

The problem with Moore taking on an issue - is that what you get is what Moore believes is reality. Presented in a way that the general public takes it as fact.

So, I think I'd rather see the Coen brothers do it. Then nobody would assume it is fact.

Pilots are now exempt from the screening process. They just need ID.

Beginning Friday, pilots traveling in uniform or on airline business will be allowed to pass security by presenting two photo IDs, one from their company and one from the government, to be checked against a secure flight crew database, the TSA said.

Piece of Pie!
I believe that I also saw this morning that they were going to lighten up on children under 12. What that means is unknown.
I would guess that the rest of the flight crew is now going to holler "me too". That should be interesting!
I can say that I don't object to the scanners. Like, who wants to look my bode anyhow, but, the gorilla gropes - ugh!
Would hate to be in the TSA agents shoes. Guess what you have to do now! And, if you don't like it, collect your paycheck.
Maybe some common sense is starting to work it's way into the system. There has to be a better way.

Why can't the Public have a pre-screening clearance like the pilots. Say pay $100 and your local Police could do a background check and you would carry something like a passport that has your info, they scan it and you pass through a metal detector and away you go and this would be for US citizens only I know the ACLU would have a problem with that but so what .. .. .
Michael Moore doesn't like the Airlines because he has to pay for two seats.

The Israelis are close to deploying an airport security device that eliminates the privacy concerns that come with full-body scanners at most airports.

It’s a booth you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on you. They see this as a win-win for everyone with none of this crap about racial profiling.
It also would eliminate the costs of a long and expensive trial.
Justice would be swift. Case closed!

Picture this. You would be in the airport terminal and hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter an announcement comes over the PA system . . . "Attention EL AL standby passengers — we now have a seat available on flight number XXXX. Shalom! And have a pleasant flight."

Followed by: "Clean-up at security point A."

I laughed out loud!!

How about the TSA administration, congress, and the senate be made to fly commercial, in coach, for the next month or two. You think we'd have change then???
