Touch my junk and I'll have you arrested!

It is utterly stupid to xray and search pilots... Don't they have the ability to push forward on the yoke and crash the plane themselves? What kind of weapon are they looking for on them anyway???

It's the biggest ingress of government since Hitler commissions the SS troops. I would rather die free than a slave of the state.

You go right ahead and die; just don't take us with you!

You know what...YOU WILL DIE WHEN IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO DIE!! I have tried several times (not on purpose) and I'm still here. I firmly believe you will go when you are supposed to...IMHO

I fly 2 to 4 times a week, 47 weeks a year. I've gone through security more times than I care to think about. On the face of it your comment makes absolute sense....but have you ever noticed how little attention TSA pays to airport employee, pilot and flight attendent ID? At MANY airports I see this group wave their ID like it's a magic wand, barely stopping at the TSA agent and they're off to the screening machines. Now in your world, what stops a terrorist from putting on a pilots uniform, waving his magic wand ID badge NOT get xrayed and then go about his business once aboard? Sorry, but until they get serious about the level of professionalism in TSA agents and their ability to properly pre-screen anyone flying....then bring on the body scanners. If you don't like the pat down, go through the scanner....or get aboard Greyhound. Flying is not a constitutional right.

And until I see or hear where a 70 yo woman with a walker or someone with the last name of "Jones" blows up a plane, I will still think this is utter B.S.:smt021

Edit: I meant "utter" not "udder"...lol

Yes, but that means the women folk would want the same, so all the James Bond look alikes would be fingering our wives, probably not a good thing.
Scott,
Are we allowed to say this on CSR?? I don't know if penetration is one of the security requirements. If it is well.......:smt009

Brian, those pilots and flt attendants fly a few times a week out of the same airport and are known by the TSA agents. In addition, have you seen that their credentials are checked at the gate by the desk jockey's? I have no problem with them going through security quickly and cutting ahead of the line. Just some common sense.

I suppose I could interpret your comments that TSA is not affective. I would go further and state that they are "profiling" since anyone in a pilot or flt attendants outfit gets special treatment... Isn't that a no no? What about a non-TSA employee that "finds" a uniform? We can take this to the lowest level or just assign common sense and make allowances based on that premise.

Some airports have special rooms for gate access by pilots and flt attendants... maybe all airports ought to have that? I don't know... all I know is common sense sometimes is needed in many situations.

The "old" procedures seem to have worked well.

I am sure the $300 million could have been spent on other than xray machines too. Has anyone seen that some serious kick backs were made to the decision makers in the TSA to buy those machines?

Seems like money was a more important factor than safety of the public...

I get your point, but... what do we do with all of the Richard Reid's out there?

How about letting anyone with a concealed carry permit fly with their gun. Nobody would know who or how many passengers are armed. That alone will serve as a pretty effective deterrent.

Next, we abandon political correctness and perform enhanced searches on all of the muslims. That is where the problem is originating and it is asinine we are afraid of offending them.

The only way to get the "Religion Of Peace" to stop committing these heinous acts of violence is from pressure within their own community. All we are doing is building better mousetraps and creating smarter mice at the expense of freedom an liberty.

this jerk had a lot of choices, go thru scanner, get patted down, take other transportation , walk. I cannot understand why people blame gov. for the scanners, pat downs, etc. The gov. dosen't own the airlines you want to fly follow the rules or walk. Don't give us this crap about your rights being taken away by the gov. There are rules to follow in all parts of life i suppose if the coast guard gave you a ticket for not having a life jacket for everyone on board then your civil rights are damaged???. please like mistercomputermans post said man up and quit whining. :thumbsup:Glad to see I am not alone in this idea. It could be expanded to nearly all flights and it would take very few air marshals to have armed people on every flight. You could eliminate 90% of these bothersome checks at boarding with a corresponding reduction in cost....
As an old pilot with over 8,000 hrs of flight time and a concealed carry permit its the only way you will ever get me in the back end of any aircraft at this time...

I support this idea! :smt038

Two weeks ago, my wife flew alone out to Colorado with our two young children. Unaware that the TSA had instituted new and incredibly invasive new security procedures, my wife called me distressed after getting frisked by the TSA. Or as my wife put it, “in some cultures I would be married to my screener by now.” She was joking, but make no mistake — my wife was incredibly disturbed by how intimate a security pat down she received.

So here’s my not-so-modest proposal: If the President’s Homeland Security department is so adamant that this is the absolute best way to prevent terrorism, I think the President and his family should voluntarily submit to one of the new invasive pat down procedures. I know the Obamas don’t fly commercial at all these days, so they should probably get a pretty good idea what the rest of us are putting up with.

The President and his family — preferably with DHS Secretary Janet “The system worked” Napolitano — should show up at Dulles or Reagan airport on a weekday with a camera crew in tow, as airport pat downs are typically done in full view of hundreds of travelers. All of America will to see the TSA handling the President’s crown jewels. Then a rubber-gloved federal agent will run his hands all over his wife and daughter’s privates while he watches. Then I want him to turn to the camera and tell all of America that this is no big deal and we should all be good citizens and comply with the necessary security procedures.

It only seems fair.

if the coast guard gave you a ticket for not having a life jacket for everyone on board then your civil rights are damaged???.

Actually, yes. The right to be free also includes the right to be stupid. (Example: Obama supporters.)

Preventing people from being able to choose to behave responsibly or not is an infringement of their civil rights.
Punishment for bad behavior is not.

Uuuuuummm the government doesn't own them outright like they do say the auto companies, banks, and mortgage companies, but they own them by proxy/regulation. Racists? Really??? If we were at war with "every tenth flyer" then maybe full body cavity searches may be in order for your 80 year old mother but I say we focus on the 20 year old male from Yemen. But what do I know, I'm just a profiler and...... Wait for it,,,,,,,,, a RACIST!!!!!

Mr. Twomad,

It seeems fairly obvious that you do not travel our friendly skys on a regular basis. If you did, you would not have made the statements you did.

I stated in an earlier post that my job requires that I fly 35-40 weeks a year sometimes going through airport security 3-4 times per week. My comments were about the waste of time and money TSA is. They have actually caught nothing except, perhaps, their junk in their own zipper.

Someone asked in an earlier post why someone would choose to be patted down. Personally I would choose the scanner over the pat down but not all of the airports have the scanners and some that do don't have the personel trained to operate them which was the case two weeks ago when I came through Atlanta, one of the busiest airports in the country. I have metal knee implants and I set off the metal detectors which sends me to the head of the pat down line.

Given the choice, I would choose the scanners which is supposed to mean you don't have to endure the fondling as the scan reveals my 6 million dollar knees. I don't really give a crap about me being patted down, other than the amount of time it takes, being a confident, heterosexual male. I'm not thrilled about my wife, my mother or my 2 daughters going through it. But since none of them have metal in their bodies it should not be an issue....right? They just go through the scanner and Homeland Security says those images cannot be printed or reproduced.

Uh oh! Look what I just found on MSN.com. A news story about how the images can be stolen. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/40218074/ns/technology_and_science-security/
Can you say, Oops! So Mr. twomad, let me ask how you would feel about some twisted jerkoff in a TSA uniform posting reveling pictures of your wife, daughter, Mom, etc. on the internet? Does that change your perspective a bit? It should.

So as I said before, I have to fly for work so I really don't have a choice. Walking, driving, riding the bus or train from Sacramento, to New York City, to Indianapolis and back to Scaramento in 4 days is not really an option, is it. Actually, I do have a choice....I guess I could choose to quit my job. Not real practical but it is a choice.

So unless someone's got a direct line to Scotty on Star Trek who can whip together a transporter for me I guess I am going to continue to be groped.

The new groping, ehr....pat down procedures should not have been implemented until there was enough AIS machines in every airport in the country to handle the passenger load. Then we would have had a choice.

i suppose if the coast guard gave you a ticket for not having a life jacket for everyone on board then your civil rights are damaged???.

Only if they then proceeded to pat down all of my passengers. :smt021

So let's get this right you really you really don't like our president and you just want to bash or disagree with anything he says or does. Sound's like a tea party flake to me. As i said before if you don't like the security RULES then take other means of transportation. Ps you would be the first to go to the media if a plane blew up and complain about the gov. didn't do enough. I think that parts of the country that aren't close to where 911 happened don't really feel the pain like us who do live closer. Don't let your thoughts about your civil rights override what happened on September 11 2001.
