The "Weathermen Suck" Thread

I don't tune into a particular channel for weather because it has the hottest weatherbabe

Considering they are all wrong anyway, might as well get a good view.

Come to think of it Bill, TV is mostly good for entertainment only, so you are on track there. I hereby amend my part of this rant.

 Good choice :smt001

We camped for the first time Thurs. night, and went through a big thunderstorm. The weather man predicted it to be stroming until friday night, but we did not see a drop of rain. He also predicted it to be clear from friday night throughout the weekend, and we got dumped on Sat. around 8-10am. Atleast the fireworks did not get rained out.

conspiracy theorists suggest that the dumb-ass weather people are instructed to forecast great things on holidays so as to not hurt the weather-dependent businesses. i only wish our marina was a hotspot. then i could pull up the radar view anytime.

i do NOT listen to the weather-talking heads. i wait for the radar image with the three hour loop. i also wake up in the morning and look around. then all day long i look to the west, which is where most of our snotty weather comes from.

i cant speak for other tv weather people, but all the NY area stations were calling for crappy weather this long weekend and into early part of next week. not washouts, but spotty storms and rain showers. and that's precisely what happened.

We had a system of weather stall over us this weekend. It was in the 80's, not a cloud in the sky, and a slight breeze... We are sun-drenched, water logged and tired!

..."It never rains in California"..... sorry Guys. 98 degrees in the daytime, 70 at night. No rain, no clouds, light winds and a 3 day, 5 boat raft up with great friends.

Are you mocking us? That'll get you in trouble now... 10 points.

With all the fires, being on the water might be the only safe place in your state.

hey, how did Gary get a Green square?

Umm... Wes... I just went and looked and you deducted points from me.

So I guess if one gets "positive" points and the moderators don't like that, they'll erase them? Is that how "user ratings" will work here?

The colors do not have to do with love, it is suppose to be (or the intent of it) is that you give good information in a post. When you post something that someone reads and thinks that person knows what they are talking about you give them a reputation. It is not a popularity contest. Example Frank Webster should be pretty quick to move up the ladder to what ever the head color is, but will / should be based on his post. As he makes a post that everyone else sits back and goes huh that is perfect advise then they will vote for him. In the same breath in order for this to work (which I am not concerned since the rules seem to be going over so well) in an adult enviroment you will not give someone negative feedback just because you do not like them instead when you see them tell someone it is ok to not flush their motor in saltwater (like someone's dealer told them) you can give them a negative report.

No I should have gave you postive points on your duckbill posting, did I give you negative points on another posting, moderators can not erase points that I am aware of however if someone gives you a negative rating it will reduce your points.

With over 1400 fires now burining in California you might be right. We had 2 weeks of smoke in Sacramento and it was nice to finally see it clear.

Mocking??? I never mock. Goad, tease, ridicule, annoy, irritate....yes, but I would never goad.

In all honesty Gary, I read the posts from all you guys in the East and mid-west, etc. and truly feel bad for you all and the weather you endure. Snow in the winter, thunderstorms in the summer. It would make me nuts.

But I envy your cruising areas. I am going to be in DC next week and will be going over towards the water one day to just dream. I wish the west coast and an ICW.

Now to more important stuff.

POINTS?, RULES?....OMG This is starting to sound like a girls club....or a bad condo association meeting. Whatever happen to just boat stuff?

Looks like our overcast of smoke is coming back... sigh.... smells like your hanging your head above a campfire... and soot is falling nightly all over the boat and the truck.... maybe we could get a freak downpour and put all the fires out :). Haha... I know.. I am dreaming... has not rained since February.... and likely will not rain until October or November.
