The Truth about COVID -19

I would prefer to delay my inevitable contact
to later in the transmission cycle. Better chance of treatment and prevention options :)

Careful. This virus is mutating. I wouldn't depend on the thinking the later the better. On the contrary, the sooner the better before it reacts to the therapies.

I have come in contact with the virus at least 3 times (all 3 individuals had positive tests within days of our contact). I religiously keep 6 feet away from people, wear a mask and limit exposure to others to under 10 minutes. So far, all clear. I know it is only anecdotal, but this is my truth. YMMV.

There is mounting evidence that getting the virus does not necessarily lead to future immunity. So, I will delay as long as possible.

For the very reason I posted. Just as with the flu and its varied vaccines, it continually mutates. You catch the virus in the summer, by Fall or winter you catch the same virus however it has mutated and you get sick again. Just like the flu.

This is the new reality that has been unleashed on us. It is not going away.

If its inevitable you might as well just run out and catch it now and every couple of weeks. For me, I will do what I can to avoid it and that includes wearing a mask when I am in confined public places where I can't stay away from the "dirty people" by at least 6ft. Its not that hard, and I have better things to do that get sic, like work to make money, and boat and enjoy the summer.

But, I do have some important medical advice. If you are going somewhere you will be wearing a mask, don't eat one of those barbecued polish sausages on a bun shortly before, and then stick your nose in the same bag as your mouth. One burp and I was wondering if COVID might be worth the risk of ditching the mask for a bit.

From what I'm seeing here in the mountains of GA and NC looks like 1 in 7 might have a mask in public. No distancing going on here. The lake is covered up with people at the swim park etc.

Very different down here in the big city. 95% of people are following the mask order and wearing masks inside buildings. Most businesses are requiring masks for entry.

It sure sounds like it is working out great for you, in all candor it’s working out great for me too. But what about the millions of people the rules of engagement are not working out for? Losing their jobs, on track to lose their homes, losing their businesses?

To keep some people safer from the virus we don’t know much about we ARE inflicting others with irreversible damage and even death.

Do their lives count? Should we have a discussion of where the balance is.

I was in a restaurant a week ago. A couple came in wearing masks, had just sat down, and the big screen TV mounted about 10' up on the wall behind them fell off. Ka-whammo.....direct hit to the noggin. Some things are hard to protect against.

We are finding a different balance in Canada. That is my point. Cases are down and we are now re-opening. In Ontario we are now starting Phase 3 re-opening. Some businesses will remain closed for now. There is a summary on the site link below if you are curious. https://www.ontario.ca/page/framework-reopening-our-province-stage-3

There is a balance. In America you are choosing to have a prolonged COVID case load and many, but not all, are making the slight inconvenience of mask wearing a political statement and an attack on the constitution. That's your choice. There are many Americans that are choosing to do what they can to reduce the spread. Even if masks are 10% effective, it reduces the transmission. Make your choice, but realize that the balance involves lots more people getting sick before things turn around.

You're just starting to re-open. Shortly thereafter your case count will rise. It's a fact of life. Then what?

I may be wrong, but I don't think they will rise anywhere near the US rate. Lets wait and see and you can call me out in a month. Unlike many of you, I am happy to admit when I am wrong (or at least in theory, I am. Hasn't happened yet.)

What is the "US rate?"

Just look at the charts. The virus has a very distinct and repeatable pattern. You have a huge spike up. Then a big fall. And then a leveling off, to a slight increase as you open up. Compare NY, NJ, Mich, IL and other states that where hit early, with the states at issue now -- FL, TX, AZ, etc. All are beginning to flatten. Then look at other countries. Everyone who has been thru this has the same curve. There is something about herd immunity going on. The charts tell the story.

New case charts for Canada and USA. I grabbed the 7 day moving average on 6/28 and 7/27 for each country. Canada 274 up to 497 = 81% increase, USA 40,563 up to 67,426 = 66% increase

Viktor Davis Hanson said it best tonight.... The rioters .... “They are the armed wing of the Democratic Party” .... no demands ...that’s not their purpose. They create Anarchy and chaos and make life miserable for the American people at least psychologically...So they can go and say we will do this for the Democratic Party and if you vote for the Democratic Party we can make this stop... but for doing this ...Now we own you.... In return you have to give us the green new deal, Reparations And Medicare for everyone.

And the more funny thing than fools wearing the masks and following the ignorant politicians "orders" are folks that are throwing around statistics like they are fact. It is fairly well known that the rates are hyper inflated due to the financial incentives that hospitals have if a patient has covid. I could go on and on, but I won't...
