The Official 450 Express Bridge Owners Club

I also updated the front page with some more information about the Disney 450 EBs. Here is the description of the VIP cruise:
"VIP Cruises are available on the Grand 1, a 45-foot Sea Ray 450 Express Bridge yacht, offering private dining, butler service, and a captain. Cruises start at $399 per hour, plus tax (seats 18 guests — or 17 if traveling with a butler)."

Just one correction for you. The last digit in the HIN (or top number) of your 2003 boat is a 3 and not a 5. So your HIN is SERP5705I203. Just make sure your Coast Guard papers for your name and ownership change are correct. It takes three to four months to get them back even if they are perfect. :confused:

Here is the breakdown of your HIN:
SER = Sea Ray
P = Built at the Palm Coast Sea Ray Plant.

5705= Your vin number
I= Built in September
2= Built in 2002
03= It is a 2003 model
You have the 19th 450EB built in the 2003 model year.
I updated the first page with your info. Thank you!!!

Typo in my post! Thanks for the backup! Just double checked my paperwork and it's correct!

You made me do a double and triple take on the “5” typo. Everything out there says production ended in the spring of 2004, but you never know.

Old slow typing fat fingered guy! Sure it didn't help when I left it out of the picture either?!

Been looking up sun screen for front windows?! Were NOT with boat at survey or when taking ownership of boat. Seller removed alot of entertainment stuff for winter storage and delivered to boat after survey was done. Sun screens where not part of that! A/C is working over time as sun screen not in place and boat is south facing at berth in port!

Just joined and accessed SROC page and looking there. Any help would be appreciated! maybe it's in this thread somewhere? A lot to read!!

Are you talking about the exterior covers for the two front windows? They are available though Boatswain Locker, but they have a 5-7 week lead time. https://www.boatswains-locker.com/
If you need them asap, I would find a local canvas shop. The upholstery businesses that service the marinas are usually backed up this time of year also and charge a premium. I had luck with an inland shop for a lot of my soft goods. If you can make a pattern for each of the windshields, they can match the Sunbrella or other marine fabric on your boat. The only thing you will have to do is install the female snaps which is easy if you have the tool. Sailrite offers this kit that is pricey, but I used it to install all of the snaps on my exterior flooring and it comes in handy all the time when snaps fail around the boat. https://www.sailrite.com/Pres-N-Snap-Deluxe-Installation-Package
I would not recommend the snap tool offered by WM (junk): https://www.westmarine.com/buy/west...-locking-pliers-95-pack--15536691?recordNum=1
The inland shop I used charged less than half what the costal shops quoted me and they were quick. Hopefully this helps. :)

I didn't have much luck finding info with our boats on SROC. Club Sea Ray (CSR) really is the best website out there. I have asked other boat brand owners if they have a resource they turn to. Most say "The Hull Truth" or maybe Facebook, but they don't have anything like this as a guide.

Another thought, you might contact Kevin, aka "Forrestkk". He recently replaced his bimini top and isinglass and did a color change. He might have his old set of windshield covers that you could pick up from him.

Lets talk about cockpit covers for storage in the slip. I decided against having a full canvas cover with a stainless frame for our boat. We spend a lot time on the cockpit of the boat and it never rains here during the season. We like to have shade, but not always, so the plan is to keep using our rod holder umbrellas as needed. Our boat had a storage cockpit cover at one time that I can tell from the snaps around the exterior of the cockpit and from a grainy black and white picture of the boat I found when it was listed for sale 15 years ago. It looks pretty basic, a rectangle with snaps. I found this boat as an example:

I took some measurements and found a local company that does a lot of business with the fresh water "muscle" boat crowd that enjoy the Colorado River. The shade is made with material that is similar to neoprene that has some stretch to it.

After taking some measurements, I called the shop and talked with them about a custom size. Because these stretch, the owner suggested the cover be slightly smaller. My order is in. I'll post some pictures once I receive it and get it installed. :)

I have the snaps ringing the cockpit. Would love to hear how your comes out

So, thinking on a new "hack" as the swinging door from the helm to the bow lets water in during heavy rain.

Thinking of buying a pack of white pool noodles off of Amazon and cutting to fit and slipping under the door.

Does anyone else have a better idea?

I bought a roll of white SeaDek a few months ago when they had a sale. Maybe run a strip under the door to serve as a curb/gutter. Let me know and I’ll send you a piece if you want to try it. I have way more than I need. :)

On my boat, there was a canvas cover that snapped over the walkway. The boat did not come with it when I bought it and I never had one made. As I don't have carpet anymore on the bridge, a quick mop up of any water has been fine. I would assume that this cover would greatly eliminate water getting under that door.

If you use a pool noddle, the water will just puddle there. you will eventually have to deal with it, or wait for it all to evaporate.

Just my .02.

Good input, I have the snaps for the walkway cover too.

I have noticed that most of the water happily runs down the steps to the bow and drains. It is just a trickle coming under the door, but with sometimes daylong rain it adds up. My hope is that the pool noodle (or Seadek, thx @Shoyrtt ) will raise the height just enough that all of it will go forward.

My old canvas curtains had so many small issues that it didn't matter much. Now that my enclosure is water tight, this is the last piece to keeping the floor dry. Also, agree that getting rid if carpet is key.

Id did see this (water under the door issue) first storm onboard at berth. river from the door and running down the stairs to the cockpit. Bridge carpets were old and worn (tossed upon arrival to new berth). I believe the bigger issue would be if caught in heavy seas and weather on the water, could make some dicey footing in the bridge. Cold feet is No Bueno!!!

Interested in hearing how everyone makes out with their planned solution.

This was the fix on our boat, just need a squeegee close by to push it down the front stairs!

That was my thought with the piece of SeaDek. Just a small gutter/curb to keep the water from coming in, but not something you could trip on. Roosevelt14, I wonder if you need it that tall to keep the water out and if it becomes a toe catcher?

Not so far...
