Anyone know if ultrasonic antifouling hull systems work?

They don't work on wood cored hulls. I checked in to them before this year's haul. Boo.
Saw that in a writeup about wood core. Would extend the life of bottom paint (new last June). I have a diver, needed more often now through September, plus frequent enough use, keeps the scum growth controlled. In Ft. Meyers, at the base of the Caloosahatchie River, it's brackish but can be nasty brown in heat of the summer. We get the Lake Okeechobee drain to the West. Stuart on the East coast has the same, perhaps worse.

Same here, just north of Destin in Boggy Bayou. Brackish as Turkey Creek is always pumping in fresh water, but also a lot of tanin which I am forever using Starbrite Hull cleaner on, which makes it dissappear.

I looked at them also and the math didn’t make sense. My underwater guy comes out monthly for $75. At our haul out, the yard workers kept saying we had a great underwater guy, the hull was exceptionally clean. Even if you have the ultrasonic system, somebody needs to check the zincs monthly and the water here even in a wetsuit is cold. I’m ok with my guy.:)

For sure, your water temp is a huge help. We are bath tub warm here in the summer. My diver comes every 4 weeks March to October and then every six weeks Nov thru Feb. I pay three bucks a foot here, so $135. Probably because he has to come to my house and can't knock out 10 boats at a shot.

Appreciate the reminder on diver as three outings coming up. Ablative bottom job holding up well but it's been several months since his look. He'll clean this week, charges $140. Might get away with next one in June. Then, have to keep it up monthly as temp rises as you noted and water gets nasty. Had to replace a cap hold down bolt on Perko sea strainer for A/C's, threads have been stripped since boat purchase but held well enough with one, then two nylon washers. Could tighten just barely enough not to leak but worried about it all along. Dam part was $48. Probly could have rethreaded but I just don't have that level of shop expertise, so just replaced it.

New Seablaze X2 Spectrums.

Awesome! My Dinghy's on the platform. Couldn't be the same but impressive in Marinas as I see on newer boats.

Dam, just looked up how much they cost. How many did you need?

Very cool Kevin! I wanted the spectrums but the Admiral pulled the veto. Just blue and white for us but it does the same rotation which is fun.

Got out today for some fun to Crab Island and then dinner on the dock at sunset.

Fantastic! Aboard ours Saturday through Easter.
Does anyone keep their sea strainer glass clean or do they just scum over so quickly it's not worth it, and pulling baskets to clean often enough is sufficient?

I clean the baskets, and glass at least once a month. After I remove the basket I use a shop vac, and pump out an inch or two of water and pour in some Simple Green then agitate it with a brush, quickly brush the sides, and prime if needed.
