Table Rock Lake

Just wanted to say that the family and I had a wonderful time in one of the most beatiful parts of the country we've ever been to!!

Unfortunately my SUV brokedown right before we were scheduled to leave, so I wasn't able to bring the boat down with us (no way my wife's 4 cylinder Honda was going to be able to tow up and down the hills!!). So we had a lovely time just exploring around Branson - even took in the show at the Army Corps of Engineers' office at the dam.

Hi Paul, Im glad you enjoyed the area...its beautiful. Tablerock is a beautiful resource and we cherish it. I have ties to the Chicago area and when I need a "Big City" fix....I head to Chicago. In fact, I'll be heading up there in a couple weeks to meet my new grandson, Noah. They live in Wakonda near the Chain-O-Lakes.
The next time you head to Tablerock, come by our sales dock at Kimberling City....I keep the nice toys in the water there...heh.

hey guys, hope you got down this weekend and got to enjoy the low temps. We went down Saturday and sat in Mill Creek with a few of our friends, but left just in time because it then started pouring right after we got back to dock. I was glad, cuz I was on the SeaDoo.

No unwanted visitors this week to the boat and I am very happy about that. We spent the night on the dock, hanging with our dock neighbors and enjoying the weather. The one of my good friends called me from her brother's house in KC and had me talking to Neill Smith, former defensive end for the CHIEFS. That was pretty funny, because I didn't really believe it was him until she text me a picture of them together. LOL haha.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I can't wait to get back.

Glad you had a good time. So you went on the dam tour? Did you drive on the dam road? Sorry...couldn't resist using the lines from Vegas Vacation....

We had a good weekend....Friday was great weather. My brother was down from KC...took them and coved out....burned up a tank of gas in the Sea Doo....we had a blast. Come back sunshine.....enough of the rain.

Congrats on your new Grandson Ray!! I'm sure it'll be no time before he'll be out with you on Bangs Lake up there!!

I know the area well; I pass it whenever I go to my dealer, Chicago Sea Ray, just up the road.

And a fine dam road it is!!

We were in Mill creek as well sat. on our way back in it started raining on us, so we must have just missed each other. From what I have seen it looks like more bad weather this weekend, so I might just have to start going to the lake durring the week, and working weekends.

See you all this weekend if the weather permits.

Oh, and I will let you use my boat if you want to come back to table rock if you can get me a license and a place to hunt those monster pike county white tail.

We spent the night last night....weather was very nice for August. We were in a cove yesterday...had been there about 5 hours....it was around 7 pm...and I was about to fire up the grill and cook some burgers. I could hear people talking, the the talking was getting closer. I looked over the bow of my boat and there is a boat drifting toward us....it was like a Kingfisher, fish and ski. Three people are floating on noodles behind the boat...and 2 people are in the boat. The guy starts the boat up...and moves about 20 feet and shuts the motor off....and is drifting towards me again. I grap my extendable boat hook pole and walk up on the bow...and sit down...here he comes again...drifting my way. I push him away with my pole...he is right over my anchor line...I said dont cut my rope...so he doen't start his motor. I pushed him off again....and he drifted on by me...thank goodness..without touching my boat.

You were much more polite than I would have been. I am sure I would have let loose on the son of a buck after the second drift into you. What is wrong with people. Same thing happened to me several weeks back. My wife, Freddy and I were all by ourselves in cow creek one Sunday and a boat out of no where drifted right into my bow over our rope. There were 3 adults in the water a helpless woman at the helm and a small boy. I had to quickly shove them off. If it was not for the child on board I am sure I would have dropped a few f-bombs, instead I asked him if it was novice boater day and ofcoarse the owner started yelling that I was an idiot for being anchored???? Good thing my wife was aboard to keep me calm.

We had a great weekend. Mainly just hung out in a few coves. Caught a few fish, and we had a couple fawns come down for a drink while we were anchored. My son thought that was pretty cool. The weather was great. Cant wait to get back down there this weekend.

Eric we overnighted next to your boat Saturday. It looks pretty clean. I was trying to figure out where the new cup holders are? I pimped out my cockpit with a strip of blue LEDs it looks pretty cool. I have set of cockpit Festoon LEDs coming this week. I am still trying to figure out why no one is at the lake? We were out till about 0200am Sunday and there was not even a SKEETER or bass boat anywhere. It was absolutely COOL and a full moon lit the way (I love that glimmer on the water the moon gives off from a distance). I saw Cory from MM on Sunday hot-roding that POS Baja that they can't sell, I wonder why???? It is not a Sea Ray! By the way am I the only boater that experiences A-holes that insist on driving with a wake within 25-50ft of me being anchored? I need a potato launcher or a bull horn.

Kurt the idiots are all over...you saw my post about the idiots who almost drifted into me. A couple of weeks ago we were anchored in cove over by Chateau and people on a PWC come flying back in the cove...the second time the passed through, my wife hollered at them..."hey no wake"...I think they thought she said "go away"...they turned around and left. At least it worked.

that is sooo the truth a couple of weeks ago we had guest with us (adults and children) we were anchored over in Naked Cove. (but we weren't naked) these people were pulling two water skiiers and came within 15 feet of us in the water swimming by our boat. We kept motioning with our hands and yelling for them to get back, they just waved at us. LOL

Kurt, I did not get new cup holders, I installed coolers under the rear seats. And no the boat is not clean anymore. It looked great the day we washed it. I think when we eat at big bouys we get grease or something on the boat from the food they throw in the water to feed the fish. Oh well. About the wake, I try and slow down and not make wake when passing people in coves because it pisses me off. It also drives me nuts when you are anchored, and someone comes in later and anchors right next to us. The lake is pretty big, cant they find a different spot.

Oh well. Were you right next to us Sat? When we docked we were between a 260 and a 270. I have thought about just sleeping on the boat, but only one of us would get any sleep since we dont really have room for that on the boat. We saw your boat going in Sat. when we were leaving, and we saw you Sunday when you were leaving as we were pulling up to call it a day.

See you guys on the water this weekend.

(but we weren't naked)
We just wait until midnight. Still have not seen you out there. We only use use naked after the sun goes down because of those dam ski boats that circle you at the back of the cove. It is amazing how much dam wake those ski boats throw. I am going to take a picture of one towing to close to me and others rafting up and them send them a bill for the repair of several small scratches I have in the gel coat. You are responsible for your wake in Missouri. My friend Matt has paid twice.

We were down all last week, and I was struck by the lack of boat traffic. We stayed south of the dam, so I don't know what your side looked like. Ours was empty, not that I'm complaining. The only place I consistently saw boats in any numbers was at the jumping rock. It was like people were putting their kids on the boat, taking them to the jumping rock (south of the dam on the western side of the lake), and then going back in.

Speaking of the jumping rock, I saw something there last week that was simply amazing - luckily no one got hurt so I can laugh about it. This woman in a State Park rental boat motors in through a bunch of boats (big wake of course), and drops off 5 or 6 kids. Then she decided to take pictures of said kids jumping off the rock. Problem was she forgot that she had put the boat in reverse when she motored in to stop her boat. So here she is sitting in the bow taking pictures while her boat idles out in reverse through about 20 boats. People were scrambling to get their boats out of the way, yelling at her to stop.:smt013 It was unbelieveable

The wake thing goes both ways. I love when I am pulling skiers into and out of the cove near our place, only to have someone idle in and drop anchor in the mouth of the cove. Then they get pissed at me because I'm throwing a wake - even though I always maintain more than 100' of seperation. Interestingly, when water patrol comes around and they see someone anchored in that position, they always tell them to move.:smt038

I am with you Tim you can't anchor right in the way and expect to have peace and quiet. But when you are back out of the way I don't get it.

Oh well, I can't complain too much because we didn't go down this last weekend and I am starting to forget past offenses. lol We have Softball and my son has baseball starting so we will be squeezing days in until that's over. And once school starts it gets a little harder for us to go. The price you pay for having four kids I guess. :) Once school starts I can sneak down during the day though!!! :) yippee!!

I will agree, when we tube, it is always in a cove, but I dont get anywhere close to anchored boats. When we anchor, it is usually at the back of a cove so we dont get much wake. I hope the lake is as slow this weekend as it was last weekend. Once deer season starts, you might see me out on the lake in Camo. I think you can hunt from your boat as long as it is anchored. I just bought a new bow, and am anxious to use it.
