Super Bowl 2014 Broncos/Seahawk thread

CV, that would be the cornerback Richard Sherman.(AKA Jerk) The QB is Russell Wilson a class act in my opinion. Wide receiver Mike Crabtree and Sherman were exchanging "personal greetings" throughout the game with it climaxing with Sherman knocking the go ahead pass away from Crabtree and into the hands of another Hawk player pretty much ending the game. Crabtree grabbed Shermans facemask as they again exchanged greetings.

Shermans ensuing comments both frightened the interviewer and pretty much verified the jerk he is.

Frightened the interviewer!!?? C'mon....Erin Andrews has stated publically that she loved the interview and wished there were more like it. And she is not alone in her opinion. Many other sports commentaters have stated the same thing. BTW That no-class Richard Shreman called out the Seahawk fans that threw food at Navarrow Bowman as he was being take to the locker room after his knew injury. Seems like a pretty classy thing to do in my book.

This what she said before putting the spin on to make like she planned the whole thing.

“I don’t want this to look like I was upset with him, I was frightened, I felt threatened, we all like Richard Sherman a lot at Fox,” Andrews told For The Win.

Am I miss-reading this?

This promises to be a good game with the NFL's #1 offense going up against the NFL's #1 defense.

It'll be interesting to see how Peyton does if he's forced out of the pocket, and if his receivers are well covered by the Hawks.

I think what you meant was "if his receivers are well held". It's no secret what the hawks game plan will be. As for MM being out of line....whatever

Getting away with a hold when the Ref's don't see it is kinda like getting away with speeding if the cops don't catch you.

If there's no cop around to catch you, is it really against the law?

Undoubtedly, That is why I want 3 coaches challenges a game, you do not lose the challenge if you are correct, and anything a coach thinks is worth a challenge is reviewable. A blown holding or PI call may be as important as when a knee is down or was the arm going forward on a pass attempt. The NFL needs 2 more officials on the field also, as the speed of the game exceeds the ability of humans to even see it in real time.

For the first time in NFL history for any team the Seahawks have 3 of the top 10 jersey sales in the US with Richard Sherman being the 1st defensive player in history to make the top 10, guess the whole nation loves to spend money on the most hated team in the NFL.

Thanks for confirming MM's summary in post #2 about penalties.

Bob, I am curious about national jersey sales that include Kohls et all, not just NFL.com. I wonder who is buying the Sherman jersey and what statement they are making by wearing it?

Ken, I have said from the beginning this was not spontaneous but rather planned WWE style to get the communications major the attention he craves. This all fits perfectly with the discussion of Miley on CSR recently.

The funny thing is, Sherman had done a quick interview with the Fox Deportes right before the Erin Andrews bit. It was like he was rehearsing... Still a Punk

Really Ken? All I saw was a guy delivering the same message to any reporter that stuck a mike in his face. Look at the video Bob & Sue posted. Would the interview have been different if Crabtree had shook Sherman's hand and said, "Thanks, you too."? I'm sorry but Crabtree got punked by a better athlete and showed his lack of class and sportsmanship by slapping Sherman's hand away and then pushing him in the face.

Enough about this. Bring on some FOOTBALL!!!!

I'm with you NorCal!! I'm done with the past and whatever happened makes no difference now anyways. Like Hilary said, "what difference does it make now"? If I misunderstood Erin’s quote then I apologize.

Let's play ball.

If I'm a millionaire NFL team owner I'd rather never see the playoffs than to be associated with this crap. Drugs, guns, arrests even murders. The long braids, the sideways caps, the off the field trouble with the law. These guys are out of control. They are acting like thug wannabees & our society is loving every minute of it. Its less and less about football and more about self promotion & hollywood headlines. A lot of these guys would be in jail or prison if they were not NFL players.

I don't care if you are the best player to ever set foot on a field.
I don't care if you single handedly won every game you ever played in.
I don't care if you make me millions in jersey & ticket sales. I'll be fine without you.
I don't care if you supposedly have degrees from 16 different schools.
PACK YOUR BELONGINGS! The guards will now escort you from the premises.

You Can't Afford Super Bowl Tickets!

Well at least I can't. Lol

"Ticket prices for Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, just a short drive (that you won't be able to make) from New York City, would be considered affordable only if you're one of the world's super rich.

On the NFL's official second-hand marketplace, the cheapest price for a ticket to the Super Bowl right now is $2,700. And that's for the worst seats in the building, the very back rows in the upper corners of the end zones. The most expensive tickets cost more than $25,000 for seats in the bottom bowl at the 50-yard line. On StubHub, the cheapest Big Game tickets cost over $2,500 each for seats in the end zone at the top of the bowl.

Of course, you could always pool your money with a group of good friends and get a luxury suite, complete with food and drinks. You only need a million dollars or so.

This Super Bowl, quite frankly, is not very New York (or Jersey). The teams are from the Western time zones. The halftime performers are from Hawaii and California. Jay-Z and Diddy are involved in pre-game shenanigans, sure, but the game itself is void of any real New York-ness, except for the outrageous cost. Life in New York is expensive, and so ticket prices for the New York Super Bowl are out of this world.

We knew the secondary ticket prices were going to be bonkers when the NFL jacked up face value of tickets far beyond any previous game. But no one could see it approaching the $1 million threshold. Not that having all that money makes it any easier to get to the game.

Parking costs a separate arm and leg after tickets — if you can get a pass, which you probably can't. Most of the spaces at the Meadowlands will be cordoned off for party tents and security purposes, and taxis and limos are forbidden from approaching the stadium, so nearly every attendee (billionaires included) will need to take public transportation to get there. To sit in their frost-covered $10,000 seat. Enjoy the game, everyone!"
