Mike, your post was out of line but you are entitled to your opinion.
What exactly is "out of line"? Telling folks the truthful baggage they may not know about Pete Carroll and the PED violations? I will remove anything not factual from my post. We all have opinions of teams and coaches around the league, but that one team can so quickly become so noted for negative comments being made about them, on national social media, in such a short period of time is astonishing.
The link, I posted, to the post from a local Seattle Seahawks blog, has been removed sometime overnight. I wonder why? LOL
But you make it sound like Pete Carroll is the first and only coach in organized sports to do what it takes to win. C'mon, let's be a bit realistic. Can you say Bounty Gate? It's fairly obvious that many, many players and coaches in all pro sports find ways to win that are less than ethical. I had a friend that was an exterminator and he told me that for every mouse you see there are 7 more you don't see. With that analogy, how many more are there that haven't been, or were never, caught. The teams you mentioned that did not have PED suspensions just didn't get caught. You would be extremely naïve to think that NO one didn't bend a rule. Do you think that Sean Peyton was the first and only coach that had a bounty system?
As for Richard Sherman, read this story posted on FOXSports.com by Clay Travis. I had the day off today and listen to a lot of sports talk on the radio while working on the boat and heard a lot of the same talk. Jim Rome applauded Mr. Sherman for not giving the same boring clichéd answers that most other jocks give.
Ah, the old "they all do it defense" Unequivocally, NO they do not. That why I respect some coaches more than others, you missed a couple that should be listed in your post as well, Mr. Spygate and Spygate Jr. By your reasoning we should give back Lance Armstrong's 7 Tour de France titles, forget all the juiced hitters in baseball, and what the heck, let's just let high school kids use PED's as well, after all, "they all do it". I am not naïve enough to believe that some do not get caught, but what that implies is the Seattle was not adept at hiding their PED use.
As for Mr. Sherman, it is my opinion he is seeking and may well get the position Ray Lewis vacated in the NFL. From my reading he is smart, educated, and motivated to build a persona and promote himself. It is noteworthy that he did not mention the team being great, only himself in the clips I saw. I listen to sports talk whenever I can, but the channel changes when Rome comes on, I'm a "Mike and Mike" kind of guy, so no authority there. LOL
