Super Bowl 2014 Broncos/Seahawk thread

If I'm a millionaire NFL team owner I'd rather never see the playoffs than to be associated with this crap. Drugs, guns, arrests even murders. The long braids, the sideways caps, the off the field trouble with the law. These guys are out of control. They are acting like thug wannabees & our society is loving every minute of it. Its less and less about football and more about self promotion & hollywood headlines. A lot of these guys would be in jail or prison if they were not NFL players.

I don't care if you are the best player to ever set foot on a field.
I don't care if you single handedly won every game you ever played in.
I don't care if you make me millions in jersey & ticket sales. I'll be fine without you.
I don't care if you supposedly have degrees from 16 different schools.
PACK YOUR BELONGINGS! The guards will now escort you from the premises.

Amen Brother!.....................

Yeah, I want this guy out of my community.

It's all settled and we know who the winner will be........

Mote Marine Laboratories resident manatee Buffet made his Super Bowl XLVIII pick Friday morning in Sarasota.
Buffett thinks, it's going to be Denver Broncos who will win over the Seattle Seahawks. Buffet has a proven track record - he hasn't made a mistake picking the champions in the last six years.
His aquarium mate picked the Seahawks.
The Super Bowl is at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford N.J. on Feb. 2 this year.

You guys can rationalize Sherman's behavior all you want, but the fact remains more people think he was wrong than right. Basically, it breaks down like this.....

Seahawks fans = 99% were not bothered it.

Everyone else = 99% were bothered by it.

Add Roger Goodell to the list of those bothered by it. Along with John Madden, Deon Sanders and many, many other football greats.

Now, before you guys get all huffy and puffy, I will give Sherman props. He actually did a very good impersonation of Clubber Lang (Mr. T) from Rocky III. "I pitty da foo".

I like a good debate just as much as the next guy but can't we give this topic a rest?

The guy was emotional after an adreneline-pumping performance. He said some things in the heat of the moment he should not have said. Who hasn't? His mistake was saying it in front of a national TV audience. Inexcusable?....maybe. Should he have done it? Probably not. But there is no doubt this is a gifted athelete and a master of his craft. The kid is only 25? They teach them how to play football but who teaches them how to keep their feet out of their mouths?

There is one example of Richard Sherman being a jerk. However, there are many more of him being a classy, intellegent, articulate young man that gives back to the community where he lives and where he was raised.

You can bet that Peyton has been watching film of Richard Sherman but I can promise you he's not watching that interview. He's watching film of his game play and I am sure it gives Peyton shivers. I'm betting that the QB God keeps the ball away from Mr. Sherman.

Gonna be a great game. Seahawks by 10!

Apparently the NFL is not tired of this topic...

"Richard Sherman fined $7,875 for on-field celebration

Richard Sherman's on-field celebration in the NFC Championship Game has come at a cost.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday that the Seahawks cornerback has been fined $7,875 for unsportsmanlike conduct/taunting.

After his pass deflection led to the game-sealing interception by linebacker Malcolm Smith, Sherman sprinted to San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree and offered a handshake. Crabtree responded to the mocking treatment by shoving Sherman in the facemask.

Sherman also flashed a "choke" gesture in the direction of Niners quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Sherman was penalized by officials for the behavior.

The fine is not related to Sherman's now iconic postgame interview with Erin Andrews that took place minutes later.

We'll bring you Sherman's reaction to the discipline when we get it. Should be any second now ..."

Back to the Super Bowl the Seahawk fans hate Denver just as much as any rivalry, remember we were in the AFC west till 2002 winning against the best is what we want, the Hawks will be ready with the 12th man.

Here's the stats for who's looking to buy tickets.

http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/ne...wing-more.html

People in New York state are the most frequent visitors to the ticket site, with 25 percent of its Super Bowl visits coming from there. That’s not really surprising, given that Super Bowl XLVIII is being played Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

Fans in Washington state were second, at 18 percent, followed by fans from New Jersey in the third spot at 17 percent.

The fourth place went to “other” at 14 percent, which included all states with less than 5 percent of the site visits.

In the fifth spot was Colorado, with 13 percent of the site visits. Connecticut was sixth at 8 percent and California, seventh, at 5 percent.

Huh? I guess my challenge goes unheeded....Come on Bob, jump in, the water's fine!!!!

Can't do it every time I've placed a wager on any of our sports teams they've lost going back to 1995 with the Mariners. May the best team win, just hope the weather or refs don't dictate who wins we all want to see a game without controversy.
Now it's time to go out for a cruise the fog is just lifting calm seas 54* today.

I would like to say “good luck” to both sides; I don’t have a favorite in this one. I favor the Seahawks a bit; they don’t have a trophy yet. But to the really true fans, the ones that actually support the teams and go to the games, all I can say is to savor this moment. Is does not get any better than this, well at least until one of the teams wins of course! Then you can have a big winner’s party, like the one my wife and I along with 400 thousand Ravens fans had last year.

You and Todd are too superstitious, but I understand. I hope the refs don't repeat their performance in the SEA/SFO game, that was pathetic for a playoff caliber crew.

Have a fun cruise. Right now it is 20 degrees with a 30 knot wind and blowing snow. Starting tonight, we will not see a temperature above 0 F. for the next three or four days. Spring seems eons away.

I've been watching the weather you folks have been getting this year it sounds really bad with no let up in sight. My dad was from Chicago he spoke a lot about the Great lakes he and my Grandpa were both merchant marines for years had a lot of horror stories about the storms there.
Hope for an early spring.

Geez Scott, how long can you deal with such frigid weather? We went to the small San Francisco boat show yesterday and it was tee shirt weather, about 70 with no breeze. I should have put sunscreen on! That being said, I am starting to do my rain dance since we have seen no rain all Winter.

I don't know about down in IN but up our way this winter is more like it used to be. We got spoiled a bit by the mild winters, this is a reminder of 'normal'. I remember back in the '60's and early 70's when you waded into Superior it only took about a minute and your legs would be numb...now you can be 15mi offshore and sometimes find water over 70F to jump into. I think it's better for the Great Lakes the way it used to be.

As a former Badger I can remember working in near to sub-zero weather as a norm. Do you remember the "minutes to death" index on the weather reports? This was how long you could stand outside until you froze to death. Given for pets and children.

The deal with the weather was that it would get to zero and stay there for days/weeks on end. Not like in the south where it gets cold then warms up. (exception being this year)

I agree Woody, this is more like the winters I remember from my childhood. The lake will definitely benefit from this past winter.

Hey Scott, I lived in Valpo and remember the lake effect snow. 10 foot drifts were common on Rt 30. and I65. I94 would be down to one lane. Those were the days.....
