Sarcas, criticism, judgement, staying on topic

Tim and Skip, thanks for taking the time to respond and to further my point. It's interesting when I try to say this I get a less than favorable response...oh well.

Based on the amount of PMs and emails I received lots of other members feel the same way. It's truly a shame good folks have chosen to not post because they do not care for all the sarcasm, criticism and judgement from the big voices on here that follows. We miss out on their feedback.

I will be cutting back on my posts/replies and, when I do reply I plan to try to keep it quick and to the point in an effort to avoid the negative stuff that comes back.

I dont think anyone should cut back from posting anything they feel is pertinent to the discussions.

My take on the way ALL posting goes on ALL bulletin boards is the same regardless:

1. Question is asked (or a comment is made)
2. Several people answer the q or comment directly back
3. Banter ensues

At least, these are the ones interesting to me. I LIKE to get to know people, their personalities, frailties, fears, enjoyment etc...I would never spend more than 5 minutes on a boring site where every thread is a diatribe of repetitive information. BORING.

As far as I see, this site is actually a bit calmer than most of the ones I am on and frequent. It usually goes a couple of pages before the "banter" portion begins.

I may be in the minority, but damn, I liek it the way it is here.

Some people will leave, you cant EVER help that. Old dogs go to die, and new ones come in. It HAS TO be this way. No matter what, even if every single thread was well organized and stayed right on subject, the old dogs will stop answering the same questions they have 10 times eventually.

Personally, compared to a year or so ago, I find this site more entertaining, the information as useful or better, and a broader, more relaxed crowd of people to chat with and actually have fun with.

+1, good post! I enjoy the personalities on this site, and also the wisdom that is shared.

Here here! Some times I only read far into the thread if I see posts from some of our more "colourful" personalities. Most useful information is to be taken from early in the bulk of the threads.

SPELT?

History of Spelt:
The official name of spelt is Triticum aestivum var. spelta. Spelt was originally grown in Iran around 5000 to 6000 B.C. Spelt has been grown in Europe for over 300 years, and spelt has been grown in North America for just over 100 years. Spelt is often used as a feed grain for animals. However, it has gained popularity as a dietary grain due to its nutty flavor, high protein and nutrition content.

Hey, does anyone know when the new movie "Nailin Paylin" is coming out?

Is that off topic? :wink::grin:

Greg,

THANK YOU, Could not agree with you more.
I have been asking for this the last 2 weeks, some people need to chat to Dr Phil or Opha. Maybe they know more about boating.

This is idiotic. Five pages of idiocy. My two cent's worth.

Throw another page on the fire.

This kind of replies is what Greg means, with not staying on topic.

Or bouting.

bouting: verb; To violently expell excess food from one's stomach via the mouth. Often caused by excessive alcohol consumption.

You mean like your useful input on threads:

"Here we go again, BLAHH, BLAHH, BLAHH, YADA,YADA, YADA..

What does that have ANYTHING to do with BOATING or Sea Rays....

Trade or fishing poles for sticks..."

Hello, kettle?

The site can be like a drinking game, every time you read the word "idiot" you have to throw back a beer.

errrr... yea, I did screw it up intentionally. :smt024

Actually, no. I am terrible this way when I write on BB's. I am a "write by the seat of my pants" kind of poster. I just type and post, rarely do I read it over or check it before I post. Thus why sometimes I have rambling, unconnected thoughts. As things come to mind, I write.

So most of my posts have grammar, punctuation or spelling errors.

I only worry about such frivolities in my relationships with clients, not on bb's.

HOLY CRAP! Gone for two days and this happened! Anyways. If there is one point I agree on in this thread it is a waste of time to read. My 2 cents.

*sigh* so why do you guys read the holding tank section?

Why bother reading anything?

Does anyone here read any books? How much of a book is filler, but is necessary to enjoy the book? Personally, the filler to me is often the most entertaining and what makes me want to read more.

If its such a waste of time, why respond, even?

I dont get this sentiment at all.
