Absolutely, dont have to like it at all, and I respect you wanting to say so, and you have every right, of course, to express your thoughts and opinions. Just like everyone, imo.

Im, perhaps, just too anarchistic to want everything to be neat and clean and in its proper place all of the time:lol:

I did that yesterday following FC3 posts. Idiot, idiotic or idiocy for total of 9 times in just a few minutes. WOW,quick buzz.:smt101

It was the word of the day.

I should think of a word of the day for each day and weave it into every post. Make things interesting. Beats being a nazi collaborator.

Best regards,
Frank

You know Frank, your response was acceptable until you threw in that last sentence. Wasn't the embarrassment of a few days ago enough to make you think twice on this one. For a guy that tries so hard to pass himself off as intelligent you sure do yourself alot of harm.

I think Buckwheat was the one that actually said that on an episode of the original Little Rascals.

Maybe he isn't so intelligent as most of us think...
Not with this kind of responses on a boating forum.

He is too sarcastic, and damages his reputation.
Don't understand me wrong, I also like humorists responses like for example Gary gives.
But not these kind of personal, and strange extreme kind of frustrated text's.
That is out of line, and hurts people.

Just my personal opinion.
And it's not my opinion to damage only Frank, but I think that this is what Greg means with this post.

I dont think anyone should cut back from posting anything they feel is pertinent to the discussions.

My take on the way ALL posting goes on ALL bulletin boards is the same regardless:

1. Question is asked (or a comment is made)
2. Several people answer the q or comment directly back
3. Banter ensues

At least, these are the ones interesting to me. I LIKE to get to know people, their personalities, frailties, fears, enjoyment etc...I would never spend more than 5 minutes on a boring site where every thread is a diatribe of repetitive information. BORING.

As far as I see, this site is actually a bit calmer than most of the ones I am on and frequent. It usually goes a couple of pages before the "banter" portion begins.

I may be in the minority, but damn, I liek it the way it is here.

Some people will leave, you cant EVER help that. Old dogs go to die, and new ones come in. It HAS TO be this way. No matter what, even if every single thread was well organized and stayed right on subject, the old dogs will stop answering the same questions they have 10 times eventually.

Personally, compared to a year or so ago, I find this site more entertaining, the information as useful or better, and a broader, more relaxed crowd of people to chat with and actually have fun with.

I agree with you for the most part.

The one thing that bugs me is when someone starts a negative smear campaign (excuse my election time verbiage) against a member and does it here publically. If you have an issue, beef or problem with me or another member, call me/them out on it, but do it privately, with PM, email or face to face. There is no need IMHO to do this on-line, in a public forum.

And, if you find yourself in a dialog in a thread NOT in the Holding Tank that is in no way on topic, consider taking it offline or starting a new thread. It's frustrating watching/listening to 2-3 members chat about nothing related to the topic. Try to be considerate of all the 'listeners' and take it off-line.

The site is not broken. I did not start this thread to stir up things. This thread was not directed at any one member. Consider this my suggestions to make this a better place to hang out in.

See this is the one part you and I seem to differ on (I think I have agreed with every post you have ever placed on the board, as a matter of fact, for the most part that I can think of)
Once a question has been answered by a few people, and it is true advice, correct and been acknowledged, I could care less if the thread starts talking about nipple piercing. Even if it is just 2 posters continuing it on for 3 pages. Realistically, I cant think of any threads on here that dont have pretty much all of the pertinent answers in the first page or two.

Im guilty of this many times, continuing on in threads, so I may be blind to how it affects others. But I usually note something someone says that kind of piques my interest to go on, even if it is off topic.

So what to do? Damned if you start a new thread even in the holding tank about nipple piercing, damned if you just banter back and forth in an existing thread on page 4.

Edit: Oh, and about a "smear campaign", I agree with you on a human level, disagree on an entertainment level <insert evil horn emoticon>

"I think I have agreed with every post you have ever placed on the board, as a matter of fact, for the most part that I can think of"

Which makes you a very wise man ;-)

How about this. 2 weeks from now a member does a search, and lands on the discussion you describe. The member comes to the 3 pages of empty dialog, decides it's a waste of their time and moves on, maybe with enough information, maybe not. Now, lets say on page 5 an on-topic reply did make it's way in, in between all the other off topic stuff. This will be missed by the member, right? Unless the member carefully takes the time to sift through all of the non topic posts.

In addition, if memberA pissed off memberB, why do I want to know about it, or in some case see all the stabs that lead one to believe there is an issue between the 2? Do you think it's respectful to stab at someone in public? Reminds me of the bulleys in elementary school..they always needed an audience.

I do not, call them on it offline, privately. Just my opinion though.
