Ripping up carpet and install Alure flooring in 80s era sundancer 300

Yep, I know where you are. I think my buddie just joined your club last week. We made a few trips up the Charles a few years ago to see a couple of concerts at the Hatch shell. We pulled em right up on the grass for the day, then anchored out in the river for the night. Pretty good time. I have been meaning to get down to worlds end one of these weekends, ever spend any time there?
I pm'd you as well. I keep my boat in the Mystic River behind Kelly's RB, been there for 20 years or so. Good club for the $$.

Just a quick update on the Allure flooring. The product is holding up great ! It is not slippery when wet, cleans up real easy, no more vaccum cleaner. Everyone that boards this boat thinks it is a real hardwood floor! Also, no more damp musty carpet smell. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Dave
Very nice work. I love the look and will be keeping and eye on your posts to see how it holds up!

Dave, that looks GREAT! Thanks for the follow up!

Thanx Ron.

That looks excellent. It also makes the floor space look larger!

Thank you for the pics and post. I have a 1986 34 ft EC that I have been thinking about replacing the carpet with a teak & holly laminate. Your project has given me the incentive to tackle this.

I'm not sure if I missed it in the thread, was there a color of the allure product! And was it the ultra?

Thanks

Kieth, The product is not the ultra. It is the standard Allure product. The particular color I used, is called (Sapelli red.) It is a special order color through Home depot.

Glenn, The toughest part of this project is getting the old carpet torn up, but will be well worth the effort.

I finally had mine done over. The rug came up easy, the installer was a bit of a "self -employed" worker who took a long time but did a good job. Still waiting fro one more piece of teak. This is the Amtico product. Used 1/4" plywood down then Amtico glued done one strip at a time. Couple of others guys have used this product as well. Great stuff. Did coulch over 2 years ago as well.

Hey Dave!

It's Tom aka the Bandit! I can attest to seeing this floor in person, it's a great upgrade!

Jorge the installer used real teak on both mating surfaces. Love the look of this product.
