  • job is done .. finished it about a month ago and got in the water a week after mem day .. was a big job .. yes transom just crumbled.. stringers wer good after cutting back about 18 inches from transom.. good luck sounds as if all these rays have common problem .. however i love the boat and have no intensions of selling it ...
Yea, Im in the same boat with the cold weather. Im trying to get the cabin flooring down. My transom has some elevated moisture levels too, not real bad, and not leaking yet. How much of the stringers to you have to do? How bad was the wood, Mush? Unfortunately, some day I will have to do my transom and stringers. Its worth the effort, love the boat. Dave
Just started working on it a week ago after the winter, I have a little more grind to do, then be redy to cut out patterns,Going to use 5200 on first layer of plywood the fiberglass the rest in once i get some more warm weather, still a bit too early to do any glass work , Boat is outside under shrink wrap in the back yard, so I am under the mercy of the weather to move forward....
