Rendezvous Santee To Charleston April 20

Barefoot landing sounds great. I've only stopped there once, so it'd fun to do something different. Is Wacheche wacha marina the one on the Waccamaw river? I've seen the signs, but never been up in there if so.

We can leave the time vague for now. I figure, pick some times, then I'll start spreading the word at the marina to see how many boats we can pick up there. Would later in September work better for you? Like the last two weeks?

The Wacca Wache (spelling) marina is on the intercoastal waterway, which depending where your at, is the Waccamaw river. It's to the west of Murrells Inlet. If you google it you can see it on the satellite photos. As far as time frame my outages start in mid Sept. and run thru November, and we work 6-7 days a week, with vacation black out. :smt009 It keeps me close to home during thoes times, I can get a day or sometimes a short weekend off but it depends on the schedule. Nail down a time frame and I'll do my best to fit yall's schedule. The day off fairy sometimes comes around at the right time.

Okay, I'll work on a time with the folks at the marina and let you know how things are shaping up. I'll PM you when I know something. Should be a great trip. I'll start a thread with an invite to CSR members as well after a date is fixed. Should be a great trip.

Just got sent to this thread by Sadler. I'm a definate maybe if you can fit someone else in. I'm a little unclear on where people are staying? I assume there's no dockage left but that's okay because I'll simply stay on the boat and can anchor overnight at an anchorage on the ICW, if that's where we will be.

I've got a few unanswered questions but that can wait until later and after I'm sure I can make it. This does sound like a lot of fun and it's close enough that I should be able to do it.

Gerald:

I believe there is one open docking reservation at this time. One person canceled and I did not change the reservation in case someone else wanted to go. How big is your boat? I will have to change the reservation the first part of April if you can not go.

We would be glad to have you along. Please let us know if you can come. You probably will have to stay on your boat at this late date. I doubt you can get a motel room with all of the activities going on in Charleston. The rooms were filling up fast in January when we made our reservation.

Sadler thanks for locating Gerald. My wife and I were wondering if he could go.

Please check you PM

I've got a 230 Sundancer and prefer to stay on the boat; camping on it is one of the main reasons we got a Sundancer. I'll know by month's end if I can go or not.

Just so you know whats going on, I've been off of the internet lately and will be for the rest of this month because I'm deep into a house flip up in Taylors SC and am working my butt off megahours to get it completely rehabbed before a potential March 30th close.... depending on if I get it finished in time (and the sale goes through per the contract) will have a huge impact on my cashflow and ability to go play on the boat over the next few months.

GJarrett,

Hope you can make it. You won't be the only one staying on your boat. We'll be staying on ours at the marina as well. I'm like you, we bought ours to stay aboard as often as we can. I know we'll all be pulling for you on the house flip.

Garrett, I don't know if it's allowed but if the slip is not available you can tie up outboard of me. I have a power splitter and you can pull juice from it. As I understand it we will be on the outer dock wall. I'll call the marina to see if that will be ok, or better yet Paul if when you have to cancel the no show reservation would you ask? I'll be staying on my boat also. Mike

Mike

JGarrett should have his own dock space and should not have to tie on to you. I should still have that extra reservation. I will verify this when I know if he can come. I have had to change the reservation a couple of times already and we do not want to confuse Rand.

Hey Paul,
I thought I would reply to your post about the country music for Sadler here. With you new setup and my system we could just put the Sirius on 60 and pull along both sides of him so he could have the good country music in stereo

Hey I'm still not sure after hearing your tales of boats on fire, almost sinking, etc.

A quick small fire with other near by boaters to rescue you would be a good excuse to upgrade.

We did the owner of that Holiday Mansion a favor. He was able to go home and tell his wife it was time to upgrade to the 55' Holiday Mansion. I always knew there was a silver lining in that fire.

I didn't feel too bad. When we arrived to get onboard, the batteries were all dead, the generator solenoid was bad (we had to use channel locks to jump the solenoid), and the fresh water pump didn't work. The only knowledgable person onboard was a boating friend (JeffNick on BoatUS board), and we outnumbered him and convinced him to take us out to the gulf stream on this floating double wide. That was the beginning of our nautical adventures. I've never laughed so hard in my life, and from that trip I resolved to buy my first real boat--what turned out to be my first Sea Ray.

I'll try to bring the video and photos of that trip to Charleston for the rendezvous.

What was the subject again? :smt017

Oh yeah, a Santee trip to Charleston. I'm now able to officially confirm that I'll be able to join

Splashed my boat yesterday and have a few squawks to address. Looking forward to the trip though.

SeaRide hope you get them worked out. De-winterized the fresh water system today on MS Judy. Hit 87 here today. Looking forward to the trip too.
