Rendezvous Santee To Charleston April 20

Sadler,

I have an old Garmn GPS III I use as a back up. It should also have the route, but go ahead and send your routing.

Thanks.

Hello all, I'd like to include myself on this trip if it's alright. I've been wanting to run the locks and the river to Charleston for a long time. I am a 240 sd owner though.

Please join in, but for some reason I thought you had a Dancer (DA), not a Sundeck.

SR Paul will probably make an announcement shortly as I believe we have most of the details firmed up.

You are welcome to come on this trip to. I have to make one more phone call today before I have all the details. We are planning on having a good time so welcome aboard. Look for an annoucement later today.

SRP, Thanks for letting me invite myself. I'll keep a eye out for the announcement later.
Sea Ride, I do own a DA :smt017 , I hope that's not a froidian slip.

Chuck or Searide,

Do either of you have a Garmin GPS? (I know Paul doesn't.) If so, i can send you the route I saved after we went up the Cooper last year, and in the event I'm late getting to the lock, one of you can be the leader.

Sadler

Sadler,

Yes I've got the GPSMAP 276C. Works great. I've already done an est. route in map source using US Rec. Lakes ... and BlueChart Americas maps since Blue Charts does not go all the way up to the locks. US Rec. Lakes covers the the lakes great. Go a head and send your track info I would like to make sure I laid it out the same. Which side of Drum Island did you go?

Chuck,

I don't recall the hours of operation, but I've have never had a problem. I generally call a couple of days in advance to make sure they are in operation.

Sound good to me. Some times I have the CRS disease  :smt043

Islandhopper - The more the merrier, just wish you had a sundeck, looks like I'm still the only sundeck :smt089

The devil is in the details and the details have been tamed. Thank you everyone for your input. The only person I have not talked with is IslandHopper so I hope this is OK with you.

We will all meet Friday April 20 at the Orangeburg rest stop at about 10am. This rest stop is located at about mile marker 150. It is about another hour to the launch point at the diversion canal. We will lock thru the Pinopolis Lock

We will go to Charleston Harbor Marina to dock. I have slips reserved for five boats. Saturday there is a varity of activities available in Charleston and on the water.

We will return to Charleston Sunday about 11am.

Lets have a great time. Everyone will have email.

Paul,

Thanks again for all your work :smt038 . Sounds like it is going to be a great trip.

Here is the address for our launch site located along the diversion canal. Try mapquest or equiv. for an idea of exactly where we will splash out boats.

Canal Lakes Fish Camp, 139 Canal Landing Rd., Cross 29436, 843 753-2271

Starting point
