Post your boat's name

Ok, well here goes. My wife’s name is Carrie Ann, I like that for the boat name, but she does not. I enjoy old cars/trucks. I have a 60 GMC pickup, and a 70 Chevelle that I am restoring. I am also into woodworking. My occupation is a Systems Engineer (server/network admin).

Ok, let the creative juices flow :)

So far all I can think of is the Kansas song
"Carry on(Carrie Ann) my wayward son" but that's too long of name
Since your a System's IT guy,
Maybe Sea:/ Drive from (C:/)
BTW,
I like woodworking too

"Sea:\ " I like that!! We may have a winner. The admiral kinda likes it too. Will have a roll that around a little.

When we were buying our boat we talked about names this whate we came up with:
I am an environmetnal and demolition contractor so we thought of "change order", and "time & material".
Once we got the boat it just didn't fit.
So we starting thinking again and this is what we came up with:
My oldest son is Jack.
My other bot is christopher, but early on we(Jack & I) nicknamed him Hammer. I am sure you can figure out the rest:
Jack + Hammer= Jackhammer

"Bella Brivin" My daughters name is Briana my sons is Vincent. They are my beautiful kids. My first boat was "Brivin Easy"

Named "Go Aweigh To" was going to be "College Fun'd" because my son waisted $24,000 tuition NOT going to college or classes for a year so the admiral decided not have the 'bank of dad' open anymore for college... but cooler heads prevailed, and bought our boat 4 years earlier than expected (Thanks son who is earning his own college money right now)... So we decided to "Go Aweigh" (our first boat and now that we have #2, it is "Go Aweigh to"

Thirty years earlier, we purchased our first boat, which we named SAMBRE, in Groton, Connecticutt. It was a 17 or so foot Grady White. It had a long shaft, 80 HP, Johnson Long-shaft outboard, and it would really get up and go. When not on submarine patrol, I would spend all my free time (while Brenda was working) on her fishing and boating on Long Island Sound. It was fun, but nowhere near as much fun on going out on Moondancer.

While test driving our 06 Amberjack 290 in the mid-November 2006, on a cold day on slightly the slightly choppy waters if the upper Potomac near Washington, DC Brenda and I came up with the name "MOONDANCER".

I was at the helm as we ventured out of the no-wake zone of the Occoquan River and Belmont Bay out to the Potomac when our sales person told us to give it some throttle. I took the RPMs up to abut 4500 and the boat just lifted up and danced over the water (about 33 MPH). The sun was a little low in the sky and we felt like the boat was dancing on the water. Sundancer for a name was not an option, so we decided on Moondancer.

I don't know what a routine "test drive" usually consists of, but ours lasted 3 to 4 hours and and then ended with the salesman giving us lessons on docking her, with both of us learning how to do it, one at a time before going back to the dealership to sign the papers to purchase her.

Ok, had another idea for a name. I will not explain it as I want to see if anyone can figure it out. I am afraid it will not make sense to a lot of people and that is why I am hesitant. It has to do with my profession. Let me know your thoughts:

"SAN Man" or "SANd Man"

? I'm not sure I get it

SAN Man

You take care of Storage Area Networks...is my guess.

First boat was named "French Kiss" complete with a set of big lips. Play off of nickname that came from my last name, and we bought the boat as our wedding present to each other.

Current boat came with "Aquasition", like the name and not sure if we are going to change it or not. If we did change it would be "SatisFinch'n" which may or may not be confusing...

Storage Area Networks is correct!

The rest of the guesses is why I have hesitation for the name. Not a lot of people outside of IT would know about a SAN. Thanks for the help! Let me know if you have any other suggestions.

Thanks,
Ryan

Mor Broke

We named our boat after our two daughters. Mor for Morgan and Broke for Brooke. After buying our boat and trying to keep up with our girls(tween and teen) we thought how fitting to name our boat MOR BROKE. The girls however did not think it was that funny.

JIMI THING

A Dave Matthews Band song speaking about whatever it is that keeps you going...

Lately I've been feeling low
A remedy is what I'm seeking
I take a taste of what's below
Come away to something better
What I want is what I've not got
But what I need is all around me
Reaching searching never stop
And I'll say...

If you could keep me floating just for a while
'Til I get to the end of this tunnel called... Jimi
If you could keep me floating just for a while
I'll get back to you

Sometimes a Jimi Thing slides my way and keeps me swingin'

The day is gone I'm on my back
Staring up at the ceiling
I take a drink sit back relax
Smoke my mind make me feel
Better for a small time
What I want is what I've not got
And what I need is all around me
Reaching searching never stop
And I'll say...

If it was only that easy - on our 2nd boat to be delivered late April 2008 - and haven't covered a transom locker yet. We have one name - but I'm the sole family holdout. All the cool names I had thought of before I had two daughters - won't fly as a family man. We will not start the 2008 season without a name!

5 Oclock Somewhere....

moved up from my 220SD to the 240DA just around the time the Alan Jackson song can out and being that I work out of a Home office and the Boat is on a lift in the cannal behind the house there have been many afternoons when work has had me thinkin of takin a long lunch, grabin a beer as I walk out the backdoor and head for the Boat. The lyrics of the Song just fit so the boat got it's name.

"PMS ESCAPE" after 60 hrs aweek of working in my self owned marine mechanic business named Pflieger Marine Service, I go home to momma like all the rest of you guys. The other play on PMS is obvious.
