Post your boat's name

So.. I know I explained my name on SRO but here it is again. We have 4 boys (duh..) so the name Four Suns.. "Sons" looked bad..

BUT... we later found out that "Four Suns" in ancient Aztec culture means total world destruction which explains a lot.. do a google on "Four Suns". You will find the following:

"The four suns refer to periods in time of ancient mexica culture, whereby those four worlds were destroyed; they refer to the dates of the time of those destructions. Nahui ocelotl, or four ocelotl, represents the time people were devoured by tigers. During nahui ehecatl, or four wind, the wind carried off the people and they became monkeys. In nahui quiahuitl, or four rain, the people were destroyed by fire and the men became chickens. And, finally, during nahui atl, or four water, the water lasted 52 years, and the people were destroyed and turned into fish."

Can't change the boat name either... bad luck...

Life is too darn short not to go out of your way for a cheap laugh. Weather our adventures are with friends or just our kids it usually ends up as some kind of an "ESCAPADE": An adventurous action that runs counter to conventional conduct. Not to worrie, the kids will be fine. It's our friends we worrie about.

For those of us old enough, the specimen to the right is Chilli Willi!

The Admiral thinks I've pattern my life after him :smt038

Boat Names

We have a silly name for our boat. When we were in the purchasing stage, we had to come up with a name immediately for documentation purposes. The only thing we could come up with quickly was "Calico Mist". My husband drinks Canadian Mist and I drink Calico Jack....hence the name!

A Thing for Barchettas

We ended up naming our 280 "Mia Barchetta". That's "My Small Boat" in Itailian. We're on an Italian kick. Our first - a 195 Sea Ray - was named "Barchetta Rossa" or "Small Red Boat" - my husband is into cars and we were paying homage to a small Italian racing car (I think.)

I figured - Italy - great food, great wine + our cool new boat. Can't be too bad.

Good luck naming your boat. If you're looking for a witty foreign saying, the Google Language Tools is great fun.

Safe travels!

When we started to look for a replacement for our old '89 250 Sundancer two winters ago, Deb (The Admiral) made it her obsession to find a boat that contained all the amenities that she wanted in an upgrade. When we finally found our current 330, she wanted folks to know that she did her part in “finding†the new toy. Sort of a play on the phrase “Depth Finderâ€. :smt101

My boat is curerntly named after the first 2 initials of everyone in my family except my wife who only got 1 initial (El CA PET & N).

However, the best boat name I've seen in So FLA:

SHEGOTDAHOUSE

I will have to admit, this comming up with a name is a lot more difficult that I thought. We have had our boat for 2 months now and have not come up with a name we like. Almost as hard as picking out the boat ;)

Let us help, what are your interests other than boating, Family names and occupation?

Ok, well here goes. My wife’s name is Carrie Ann, I like that for the boat name, but she does not. I enjoy old cars/trucks. I have a 60 GMC pickup, and a 70 Chevelle that I am restoring. I am also into woodworking. My occupation is a Systems Engineer (server/network admin).

Ok, let the creative juices flow :)

Meaning Happiness or Joyfulness in native Hawaiian language ... we are Hawaii nuts and very interested in their culture (sometimes when I read the news I think human sacrifice should be re-introduced for certain folks!!) other thoughts were Pau Hana (after work), but Hau'Oli stuck

The name for my boat was chosen long before the boat itself......Princess M. Anyone who knows my wife even a little bit has no question about the name.
However, I think my brother in law actually has the coolest name for his boat. He lives in MA and his boat is from a builder in Nova Scotia. The builders father started out by building sail boats and his personal boat was the Scotia Mist; which my brother in law adopted for his 26' Rosborough.

My boat was named Sonny Daze (the guy's name was Sonny) and since I had to give a name for the documentation right away, I just changed it to Sunny Daze, which for down here in S.Fla is kind of appropriate.
