Portable BBQ ?

Anyone got any pics of these things on their boats? I would like to see the swim platform & rod holder mount.

Just finished the order with West Marine in CA. Prices were quite reasonable + they matched competitors numbers.
Free shipping from CA to Calais, Maine. I'll pay 13% HST bringing it across the US/Canada border but still beats the "brokerage" charges the couriers apply.
I or a buddy will make a run there in a couple weeks picking up antique car parts.
Bought the Magma Newport grill, 28" pedestal mount, serving tray & the carry bag.

I can't believe you guys like those Magma grills... they are the worst cooking instrument I've ever used.

I'm not a chef, but I have played one on TV, and my Magma cooks great. It gets very hot which is something I'm looking for to get a great crust or sear on meats. It doesn't simmer very well. MM

Thanks for all the replies. I'll look into all the brands mentioned, over the Winter. We bought a small camping style BBQ this year. Takes a small external mount propane tank.
Just enough room on one of the tables, with a towel under it, & no more than two people on the boat.
Definitely not safe & we used it only the one time.
There is evidence of something used on the swim platform by a previous owner. 3 screw holes in a triangular pattern suggesting perhaps a pedestal.

I plan on getting a new Magma, and will be selling my kettle grill like the one below... I will take $100 for the grill and the mount... It is a gas grill in good shape with a sumbrella cover, and some extra parts.. It is attached to the rail on the back of my boat in the pic below...

Magma does just fine for thick ribeyes for dinner and eggs and bacon on the griddle, which is about all we cook on the boat. Now for home, my Weber Genesis is a cooking machine!

They work just fine for burgers and brats. If I wasn't confined to a lake and was able to spend significant time cruising then a better option would make sense. The Magma is adequate for anyone that just spends the day or weekend on the boat and isn't doing anything fancy.

I bought the same grill about 4-5 years ago. That grill is amazing and so easy to cook on. Holds a perfect 350 deg. and no hot spots. I grill out at least 4 days a week!

The Weber "Q" makes a great boat grill - and cooks like a Weber with great temperature control. Only shortfall is mounting - end up putting it on the dock or on the foredeck with a towel under it to catch any drips.

 My favorite feature is the "searing section". I guess ease of cleaning ranks up there as well.
