Randy,

Are you calling for all of us?

Ken

Just spoke to PLM, plenty of slips available for the 6th - 10th. Told them that 5 or more boats would be calling to set up individual reservations.

Let's go!!!

Just as a note to all. Randy mentioned a return on Sunday the 10th..the 10th is a monday.Personally, I would rather return on a monday.

I had a Kalik when I was writing that post :smt101. I think we would leave on Monday, not Sunday (if everyone is in agreement).

.... or we can leave Thursday the 10th and return Tuesday the 6th!!
seriously... is the final answer Thursday 8/6 - Monday 8/10?
I'm not sure my liver can handle 4 more nights with you guys.

Have you gone in a 260 before - I don't do well with alot of banging around! When you travel as a group - how does it work with sizes of boats etc! can you be placed behind a larger vessel and ride in their wake for protection? I live in Boca and have never attempted a Bahamas run for that reason!

You might want to do the Bimini trip first, the Bahamas puts on a few of these boating "flings" where they take about 15-20 boats throughout the Bahamas. We did the first one last month, and they are going back to Bimini in July and August.

Here's the link:

Bimini is about 50 miles and Port Lucaya is about 90...

Ray, Jack, Randy and the others going to Port Lucaya can tell you more as they have made that trip before...

It will help somewhat to get behind another boat but not allot. I would search the forums for information regarding smaller boat crossing. There are many aspects of crossing in a smaller boat such as safety equipment, fuel capacity, experience level, condition of the vessel and number of engines. Regarding the gulf stream, here is something to keep in mind - if the seas are flat when you leave Florida, they may not be that way when you return, you just don't know what the weather is going to do. Once your in the Islands, you may have to return in weather you don't like!
