Polishing Before and After

I didn't take Donnie's post the wrong way, I have read many posts by him and remember Jim giving us a heads up. I actually was checking out his products on BOE's site yesterday and plan on using them this season.

You need my Oxidation Remover, Polish, Rotray Buffer & Wool Pads. Please let me know if you need anything.

Need? No, don't think so. NEED is a strong word.

I'm gonna side with Tod on this one. Donnie's wording probably should of been more like "Have you looked at/tried my..." or "Please let me know if you NEED..." instead of telling Tod he NEED's Donnie's products.

I think everyone understands everyone's position. I never saw the intro I guess or don't recall it. Either way just seemed 'off'. I'll go check out some of Donnie's post's on polishing.

Thanks for the input everyone. I think we've got everything sorted, so let's see how we can help each other.

I just got back from Miami and now sitting in a Hotel room in Louisville before going home next week. I'm in the process of expanding and moving into more places/markets. We started as grass roots and the word has spread from there. I've not mainstream marketed allot, but I've spent my time on numerous forums and events across the US.

Our next step is Ship Shape TV. We've visited with John and now just need to get everything in line. I have one main retailer in the Miami area, Doller Offshore in Hollywood. I've got numerous detailers that use our products, but it's the ones that know me directly. Again, no big marketing campaign....yet. All of the wheels are in motion, but Rome wasn't built in a day.

I can't do samples currently. I've done them before with great results, but they're not cost effective for a small business across the forum. I've selected a few members on CSR, so we'll wait and see what their results say.

Please don't hesitate to contact me for anything. Sorry for any confusion earler in the thread. Thanks again yall!

Donnie

Donnie,

I know you did not ask for it but If you were to select only one member his name should be a member by the name of 280 SeaRay; if you get his support most of the others of us will follow....just be ready for him to test your product...I think last I saw he had a piece of fiberglass baking on his roof to see which wax held up better between 3M and Meg.

Just a thought.

His boat's already perfectly shiny though.

Donnie
I'll give it a whirl and be honest with all here in the results.
My boat has the neglect in it's previous life, prior to me and you can look back in this post to see my results so far to date. I still have work to do.

Impressive effort - looks great !!!
How about suggestions for a good buffer.
Thanks, Walt

I use the Makita 9227C rotary Buffer and the Porter Cable 7424 Random orbital for the polishing/waxing application

I'd like to say that I do the same, but then it would sound like a pilot thing, but, I can't lie, so I'll say it. I do the same.

Well I took John's advice and bought some Meguiar's 67 some time back. Well I finally got around to testing it out today. I worked over the transom, followed by some 45 Meguiar's polish. I'm pretty happy.

Time to throw some wax on now.
I do have a crew to help on the sides.

I'll get to those more thoroughly next.

Outstanding.

I also got finished this weekend commissioning the boat. I still haven't splashed yet, but I did polish and wax the entire boat. I used Meguiars #67 as well and I have to say the boat looks absolutely outstanding! I believe John (Hampton) said it starts aggressive and then turns finer leaving a polished surface. Sure enough, that's exactly what it did. Small marks that never came out washing the boat came out with #67. I followed up with Meguiars Flagship and the boat just looks gorgeous. The shine is spectacular!

Well after seeing your results I wanted to give mine a try. I have wet sanded, four different grits, rubbing compounded, cleaner waxed and polished. It does look much better but not as good as yours does. My arms gave out before I got that mirror look.
My hats off to you. You are a better man than I.
Thanks for the motivation.

Sounds like you need to hit it with more polishing compound when you get your strength back, then protect it with a wax (or similar).

I used Meguiar's #45 polish after #67. John did you or Jeremy use anything between the #67 and the #45. I recall Jeremy noted a #49. I'm pretty satisfied with this so far, I just need to make everything consistant now.
