Official 380 Thread

New to this thread, in the process of picking up a 2002 380 Sundancer, and starting a few month process of engine and overall TLC. I've read through about half of the thread so far, great information and lots of "sticky notes" I've saved :) I'm in the Middle River, MD area, so anyone local give me a shout

Congrats on the new to you boat!

+1 on Boat Outfitters. I repaired mine last spring and replaced the upper tracks there are 2 so ordered 41” and cut to size.
Boat Sliding Door Black Upper Track
SKU: 148-1164-41
I believe yours would be the same as mine so you would need 4 Boat Sliding Door Truck B - .975" Tall SKU: 016-1038
I also ordered Boat Sliding Door Hardware Kit with Black Flush Nuts SKU: 120-0002
I didn’t need to replace the bottom tracks or trucks but you may need to depending how worn out they are. There is more either on this thread or another with pics.
Worked with TJ from boat outfitters and ordered 4 each of 1037 truck rollers and the 1038 ones as well. I'm hoping they are the right ones, he's fairly confident they are but there's two others as well. He was amazing to work with, and gave me free shipping.

BTW, Marx from FlounderPounder was equally as helpful; I started with TJ first so I decided to let him/them complete the transaction.

I do not have a Sea Ray....but welcome to Middle River!

I have a 2000 380 Sundancer with Mercruiser 7.4 Horizon Engines.
The parts manual calls out Mercruiser part no. 803991, NGK BR6FVX spark plugs.
They have been discontinued.
Can anyone tell me what a very good replacement plug is?
Any issues with certain ones that I should stay away from?

Thanks in advance.

The replacement plug is - NGK 2318 BR6FIX

Bad start to Spring , I showed up at my boat yesterday to do some work to get her ready to launch to find that thieves had stolen the Captains Chair . Anyone have any ideas where I can get a replacement for my 2000 Sea Ray 380 Sun Dancer ? I"ve already checked Flounder Pounder and Ebay with no luck .

The captains chair? Wow, that's a first. They must have had access inside the boat to get that sucker off? Big bummer.

I doubt you'll find a Sea Ray original chair. But there are plenty of nice aftermarket pedestal/chairs out there. I wanna say Garelick is the OEM pedestal for Sea Ray but I could be way off. I'd start at West Marine and see if they can find a pedestal that exactly matches what you had (bolt pattern) and go from there.

Given the prices I've seen for helm chair setups you may want to file a police report and claim this on insurance.

That's Crap! Check your local craigslist, Facebook market place and pawn shop. I recovered my kids bikes when they where taken out of my garage that way. My guess is someone with this kind of boat would not be stealing, so someone must have done it to sell it!

Thanks everyone for your ideas ! I have a lead on a chair from the Sea Ray Owners Facebook page .
There was a series of targeted break ins last year similar to mine at my yacht club .It seems like someone is fixing up a Sea Ray and each occurrence the thief had a targeted parts list .Next upgrade for me will be a security system .

This happened to my last boat before I purchased it. It was on the hard for a long time, became a parts boat for somebody. For example, someone literally disassembled the generator part by part.

Funny Story (not really)....
Emergency bilge alarm goes off when about 50 miles offshore.....come off of plane and lift hatch and look for water around engines and its dry....go down inside and lift floor boards and see lots of water sloshing around, along with booze, beers and dive gear!!

Something made me think to immediately taste the water and yes, it was fresh water!!

While cruising, original ShurFlo house water pump (circa 2000) decides to blow seals and drains about 50 gals of fresh water from the tank. I let the bilge pump get rid of most of it and sponged out the last bit.

When we got back, I already had the new pump in my garage because I knew that one day this would happen (but not in such a dramatic fashion).

All I needed was two 15mm Watts Aqualock hose barb fittings and about 12" of 1/2" water hose and done!

Better flow and better water pressure with new pump.View attachment 124723 View attachment 124724
Does anyone know what the max pressure replacement pump would be for the fresh water system?

They don't rate them by pressure but more GPM. 4 or 5 gpm is the most common. If you don't have an accumulator tank, I highly advise one. They keep the pump from pulsing and really smooth out the water system operation.
